That would be crazy, but a good deal for WV. Guess he had issues with the prior administration & also wanted to spend more time with family.

"Huggins said he wants Carey back in the program and supports him, Carey told 5 News".

I'm good with that. He had that one title tie with Baylor but only four winning seasons in 10 years coaching in the Big 12. Made the NCAA only once in his last five years. Counting the COVID year because they had a losing conference record that year also.

WVU is in a spot.

They can maybe attract a promising young coach if they had more time and money but Carey is there, available, and ready. He won't need a big contract. He knows the territory. And, UWV has access to huge populations nearby to draw recruits from; Carey has a chance to pick up where he left off...nothing special, nothing too bad, and fairly clean.

Haley VanLith potentially guarding Caitlin Clark in a regional final could be quite entertaining. Louisville was a top 10 team at the start of the season, and they played like it tonight. Jeff Walz can coach.
Doubt either of these players would guard each other in a potential matchup.

At Iowa game Clark is dribbling out the clock Bill says keep on her because you know she is going to hoik up a 3 ball at the buzzer. She gave a head fake, a forward dribble with 4 seconds left and a look to Danarski. If I were Lex I would have lost my s**** on her.

"The Van Sith" vs Clark will be a good one. The Sith could get under her skin she does everyone else. She radiates nasty
Another movie reference that Coach B can use to motivate her coal dust and pyrite clad:

I always had the feeling that he was forced out at WVU.
From the article (and my understanding): Carey cited a desire to spend more time with his family when he retired last March, but said Monday part of his decision was due to the “prior administration.”

Stanford Coach Tara V's quote after their loss to Ole Miss....

Yikes....

Don't you get the feeling she talks her mind and has earned the right? Thoughtful restraint should have kept her silent. Wonder if she is closing in on her career goal to hang with Coach K.

Anyway, Stanford's men leave something to be desired in their conference. While, VanDerveer has impressed pretty consistently:

Quick look at the box score from OU/UCLA last night shows a surprisingly high total of 3800 for attendance and a combined 55 fouls called. UCLA had three foul out, OU had two (including Aubrey in just 11 minutes).

TCU has a new coach.

He is an amazing coach. Great hire for TCU. He recruited the Sabally sisters from Germany to play for Oregon and was a key assistant coach for Oregon's Final 4 run with the Sabrina Ionescu team. Then he takes over the dumpster fire of a program at Sacramento State and gets them to the NCAA tournament in just 2 season. My only question about this hire is whether he thinks he can recruit to TCU. Most of his pre-existing recruiting footprint has been the west coast and Europe.

It’ll probably help that TCU is in Dallas, so at least it’s not in the middle of nowhere.

In Aubrey's defense, she was "assigned" to intentionally foul UCLA at the end of the game.

Robertson struggled (1-4 FG, 0-3/3PT). Her record of 73 games making a 3 point shot ended. Felt bad for her. She was an elite shooter & seemed like a humble teammate.

I was familiar with Campbell's story but he did not make a list of Top Ten young coaches by this article (some of which could move up):

List

1. Natasha Adair, Arizona State
2. Amber Whiting, BYU
3. Sytia Messer, UCF
4. Katie Abrahamson-Henderson, Georgia
5. Sam Purcell, Mississippi State
6. Coquese Washington, Rutgers
7. Felisha Legette-Jack, Syracuse
8. Joni Taylor, Texas A&M
9. Amaka Agugua-Hamilton, Virginia
10. Dawn Plitzuweit, West Virginia (now U of Minnesota)

Three of these I am familiar with, but none of them enough to have a big opinion upon. No mention of the Wyoming coach;)
