Ok, we get it, man. What's your endgame here? Do you think you're actually convincing anyone of your position? Is there some kind of door prize for being the saltiest peanut in the bag? I'm pretty sure Lisa Bluder isn't going to sleep with you. So, what are you trying to accomplish?

Well not with that attitude.

There should be an OT thread for MFK between Bluder, Mulkey and a third option I can't think of right now.

Nothing really, I guess it's more general frustration and even a little bit of disappointment in the stance this board takes on different issues.

That Hok fans are on their site calling college basketball players the N word?

Calling one player ghetto for a similar action as the one they have their latest Haydenism to?

Yeah, I saw it and it's despicable. I don't post on there or interact with any of their fans. What exactly are you suggesting I do about it?

Both of you are wrong, and two wrongs don't make a right. That's the last ill say about it.

Do you think it's OK that one got called 'ghetto' and 'thug' for doing something similar as another player that was hailed as a hero for it just a few days prior?

That's the part many are not ok with.

PM me if you want to talk about it, otherwise I think I've caused enough controversy in this thread. I'm moving on to the men's game tonight.

Move to Louisiana then and get out of our state.

Spammed? I sent you exactly 2 messages simply explaining that you could ignore me or continue to cry about my posts where I said I wouldn't be cheering for Big 12 teams in the tournament.

So a person in the state of Iowa can't cheer for the team from Iowa City to lose, but can cheer for the team from Ames to lose (and every team in the Big 12 apparently)? That seems insanely hypocritical. Kind of like thinking it's ok for one person to make a gesture, but not for another. Crazy.

Dear God, there was like a dozen "you guys suck, I'm done with you" posts.
No you don't understand this is going to be the post that changes the mind of an unhinged boomer who has a long history of being unhinged on here.

I saw comments today from Reese that said her actions were for, "girls who look like me". I don't follow Caitlin Clark real close, but has she made racial attacks or attacked black athletes before? I get taunting and trash talk, but using this as an opportunity to be a racial beacon? Yeah, I'm not sure.

I think she was trying to make the point that Clark has been doing this kind of stuff all season long and nobody has had a problem with it. Crap, it’s even been embraced as attitude and confidence.

So if things are equal, there should be no problem with a black player displaying similar attitude in her moment of glory. The pearl clutching by quite a few people over this whole thing demonstrates pretty clearly that some people have a problem when it’s a black women talking trash and showing a little swagger. Reese was making the point that young black girls should be able play the game the exact same way Caitlin Clark has all year instead of having to worry about staying in their lane.

Can't count how many times I saw the word thug on FB. Also, saw plenty of comments in regards to SC not coming out for the national anthem.

Those game threads linked a few pages back was a lot more than thug. I really don't mind thug when it is applied to exceedingly rough/dirty play. But that wasn't how the Iowa fans were using it.

I’ll chime in to say I mostly think what Clark was doing wasn’t great sportsmanship…but from listening to others who watched her more was mostly done in a playful way. So maybe more lack of sportsmanship due to being naive. Makes me think of how Lebron used to dance on the sidelines at the end of games…or how Alfonso Soriano would do the John Cena.

Reese’s response looks worse to me because there isn’t any entertainment or joy in it. It has nothing to do with the color of her skin…it’s just that it looks like hatred directed toward one person. In the game you could maybe pass it off as getting somewhat caught up in the emotions of the big game…but some of the comments after make it worse in my opinion. She’s only 20, so I don’t think it’s fair to call her names…probably wouldn’t ever be. But you do hope she matures.
