I thought John Neal graduated a long time ago. Maybe he got a covid year.
“I chose Iowa State because of the relationship I had with Coach (TJ) Otzelberger and the rest of the staff,” he said. “How coach carries himself, his mentality and work ethic is something I gravitated towards and he made me a priority since day one. I also have an opportunity to go there and win games, be myself and develop into a better player.”

TJ Otzelberger and Iowa State have landed a commitment from one of the top scoring freshman transfers in Jackson Paveletzke.
We seem to be upgrading our offensive firepower. I will allow it.

Oh, he'll have a chance to win some games. No doubt about that.
TJ understood the assignment - the team needs more and better shooters. And they've added Milan, Hamilton, Gilbert, Pav (and Jones?) - all of whom should be 36%+ 3pt shooters and can score off the dribble. The offense should be about a million times better next year
So between he and Milan do we finally have multiple 3 point shooters?
The third one who visited this weekend (Darrian Williams from Nevada) is going a different direction (per Chris Williams)
Big one! Keep surrounding Lipsey with elite shooters and scorers. This roster a few years down the road is going to be tough to guard.

I agree completely...however, in finding this offense...how does it impact our defense? Honest question...I don't follow recruiting beyond what I read on this board.

Definitely going to be the most excited I've been for Cyclones bball in a few years. The last 2 years have been fun but I didn't have a ton of expectations. I wouldn't say I have top 4 seed expectations for next year but I expect the team to continue to get better throughout the year, be playing their best bball by the end of the year and make the tournament. Could be a slower start to the year though
As in any recruiting battle, there are the Pavs, and the Pav nots.
It will take a step back - but losing Gabe probably does that on its own. Although Omaha should be a defensive plus all by himself.
The thing that stands out to me is that these 3 guys (Gilbert, Pav and Jones - if that's the third) is they are all skinnier than anyone on our team last year. We basically had no one under 200#, and these guys are in the 170#-175# range.
