I could be very wrong here (I'm not an NFL draft junkie), but seems odd to me that a specialty pass rusher like Will would get drafted in the first round. Seems like first round guys would be every-down kinda guys.

Yeah, about the only time I do check anymore is if a company charges extra for credit card (understandable) or e-check (not understandable, ********) payments.
I have dealt with businesses recently that only take cash or check as they don't want to even deal with credit card processing companies and the associated fees.

I don't see checks ever totally going away, but I have only written nine checks in a year and a half.

Personally, I think he will be an every down guy. It seems like he's just such a good pass rusher, people assume he's no good at defending the rush, but I guess I just didn't see that at Iowa State. Maybe its just his size that gives people pause.

Speaking of draft stories teams make up, I just heard yesterday about Bill Polian (former Colts GM) still telling stories contrasting Peyton Manning great interview with Ryan Leafs terrible one. Leaf said unequivocally that he never met with Polian at all.

Anyway, I hope Will took care of his business.

Personal checks like when Dorothy Ann is holding up the line at Hy-Vee while she writes her check is what needs to be done away with. I understand some boomers and elderly folk grew up a certain way, and it's hard to change.

Do you need help scanning your groceries? Go through the self checkout.

There are a lot.

Justin Jefferson, Ja'marr Chase, Amon-ra St. Brown, Ceedee Lamb, Drake London, Garrett Wilson, Jayden Waddle, Chris Olave, Devonta Smith, Brandon Aiyuk, Tee Higgins, to name a few and maybe you even consider guys like Christian Watson and Jerry Jeudy.

The NFL is full of young talent at the WR position. And the last few drafts have shown that you can get guys who can make an impact right away.

Like I said previously, guys who produce like Lazard are available every off-season in free agency. If he keeps playing at the same level, and gets 50 catches, 500-600 yards and half a dozen touchdowns every year, he'll continue to be desired by teams who want a dependable 2nd or 3rd receiver. That's a great accomplishment, especially for a guy that didn't get drafted. But let's not make the story more than it is. Nobody is kicking themselves for not drafting a guy like that, 5 years ago. Every GM in the game has bypassed drafting multiple receivers, better than Lazard in the last couple years alone.
Please don’t put this information out there unless you are literally in the know. Have you worked in the front office of a pro team?

Are you joking? You do know we're on a message board, don't you?

Do the interviews actually have that big of an impact? I mean I could see it helping decide between 2 guys graded out closely but just to have a huge impact on a guy seems weird. Especially because everything we know about Will is he is a good guy

I can totally see it if they player doesn't seem to know much about scheme or play calls and they get the idea that he's still simply relying on his athleticism.

Probably won't raise you any but they're probably looking for character red flags

Just knowing how pro teams draft so much on physical potential I still can't see it affecting him THAT much

I'm assuming it could be a tie breaker between two similar prospects. I can tell a lot about a person from half an hour to an hour of chatting with them, like any job interview.
