My vote actually would be if this was an option:
Hardly ever and really don't have much time for naps

I usually sleep well, get 7-8 hours a night. Sometimes if I'm having anxiety it takes a while, but taking a warm shower helps when that happens.

I usually like around 7-7.5 hours. I generally get around 5-6, sometimes less when co-sleeping. We rotate on co-sleeping with our 2 year old depending on work schedules, but our toddler is a night owl like us, he goes to bed generally anywhere from 1:30-2:30 am. Daylight savings time did not help.

I am nervous about using any kind of sleep aid (CBD, melatonin, etc) and having my body require that to get to sleep. Disclaimer, I also rarely take medicine and have to be cautious of not taking what most people consider "normal" dosages. One Dramamine put my dumb ass into a coma for a 3.5 hour flight once.
I take a zma every night, which seems a little more natural and multi-purpose. I sometimes supplement that on top with a unisom gummy. Don't love to do it, but sometimes with naps and inconsistent bedtimes, the result is sometimes not falling asleep right away.

I sleep 5-6 hours, am almost always tired when I wake up, hate naps, keep a steady supply of coffee running through me from 5a to 8p
You drink coffee up until 8 pm?!? Would that be your problem is your low sleep cycles? I can't drink coffee in the afternoon otherwise that affects me falling asleep late at night from slowly metabolizing caffeine.

My caffeine tolerance exploded a long time ago I think. I could drink coffee til 10 if I wanted to, and still fall asleep at 10:30. The low sleep is just a product of the daily schedule in this season of life. I get up at 5a, but my wife and i don't settle in for the night (kids in bed + chores done) until 8:30ish, and like to get 1-2 hours of quality time in after that. So basically, I choose getting some quality time in with the wife over an extra 1-2 hours of sleep.

Side note on the caffeine tolerance - for as much as I consume, I also don't experience withdrawals. A few times I've gone 3-5 days with no coffee/caffeine and never experienced bad headaches or other symptoms, just overall more general sleepiness during the day.

I get around 5-6 a night most nights. Picking up work on a second job. But every few weeks, I crash and need to go to bed at 8:00. That night I'll get 11.

Holy crap. Our kids have bedtimes. No one in our house is up past 11 other than me. And no kids are/were sleeping with the parents unless they were either sick or had a bad nightmare. I guess everyone's different, but you gotta put your foot down or it only gets worse. You can't have kids staying up until 2:30 when they start going to school.

I am getting 4-5 on average I would say. With a nap occasionally during the week. The only time I sleep more than 6 hours these days is when I am on a plane.

The last several months have been insane for me. Been traveling across 9 timezones working Pacific, Central, Eastern, Japanese and European hours at times. 10 hour flights here, 12 hour flights there, 4 hour layovers in the city I live in to get somewhere else, plus multiple bachelor parties and weddings and conferences. It's starting to become maddening.

I moved to Chicago almost exactly a year ago. I've slept in my bed maybe 50 times. Which is somehow worse than it was when I was traveling Pre-2020. I thought I was gonna go down in travel not up! At the end of the day I love my job and what I do but stretches like these are how people get burnt out and leave.

Suffice to say. My sleep ain't great Bob. My sleep ain't great.

Oh I don't disagree. I've spoke my side. We've tried to back him up some and have had a little success, but mama stays home with him more and so she can deal with it if she allows it. We tried the crib/other bed. He has huge meltdowns and doesn't want or like that. Technically, most countries across the world co-sleep; the US is different with their mindset in having the child sleep in another room. There are some benefits to it. Obviously pros and cons to both. His schedule and routine is sleep roughly 9 hours, up for ~6, 3 hours nap, up for roughly 5-6 hours again. So yeah, I realize when he starts pre-school that will have to change in some sort of way. He also hates shoes, and we have to rotate like 4 meals for dinner/lunch and 3-4 things for breakfast. Hopefully the trend adjusts lol.

Ahh, my brother-in-law can do that as well. I'm amazed. But, my wife can eat or drink sugar right before bed and fall right asleep. My body, however, will react accordingly and be on high alert/focus and be up all night because of it.

Jaw dropped. Dang, that is a lot of traveling and trying to keep up. At least your air miles and hotel points are adding up! What is it that you do? Japan culture intrigues me, hope to get there someday.

Are you single or married? Have kids?

Usually 5-7 but never consistent. The kids are perpetually sick and waking up. Our 2 year old is up multiple times a night, every single night. The 4 year old wakes up frequently and won’t go back to bed unless someone lays with him on his bunk bed or he sleeps on the couch in our bedroom. Then my wife decided we needed another puppy a few weeks ago. The younger two are usually asleep by 7:30-8 and the older by 8:30-9. At least one of the 3 kids is usually up by 5:30-6.

Holy crap, that's a lot of "quality time"! My "quality time" decreased substantially after marriage :(
