I thought both were fantastic. I probably liked Bad Sisters more but both were really well done. For me they both felt like series that were really self contained in the one season and shouldn't continue, but I heard they might be making another season of Bad Sisters.

I finished watching Black Bird last night. It was only six total episodes and was Ray Liotta's final performance. It felt a little bit like it wrapped up too quickly toward the end, but maybe that was because of Liotta's death. Overall, the series was pretty good. I recommend it to anyone if you have the time. It's based on actual events.

They say they always had this main story planned for 3 seasons. I think they just didnt have much for Keeley planned after the first season but she became a popular character so they felt forced to write stuff for her

Supposedly it's based off the book, but IMO removing the whole
alternate reality
would have enabled the story to go longer and in many interesting directions. The Nazi/Japan theme itself provides foundation for good stories. I hate the direction they took with it.

I finally got around to watching the Last of Us over the weekend. Overall, I liked it. A very different apocalyptic plot. I felt like the show started to lose itself in Kansas City. Up until that point, most of what happens wasn't too hard to believe, but once there and after, there were some dumb decisions and things that forced the viewer to really suspend reality.

From (MGM+ via Amazon) kept our interest through the first season, but the second season requires a subscription, and we decided that it wasn't quite good enough to do that.

Really interesting starting premise, but didn't really leave me with the impression that the explanation for all that was going to be all that deep.

I think you quoted the wrong post unless I missed some pretty significant developments in Ted Lasso

I recently finished Season 2 of "Vikings: Valhalla" on Netflix and just started "Mayor of Kingstown".

"Vikings; Valhalla" isn't quite as good as the early seasons of the original, but it still holds my interest. Same with "Mayor..." although it's pretty close to being too dark and grim.

I know this show has its own thread, but I've been refreshing myself with Better Call Saul episodes on Netflix. Stopped watching it after Season 5 finished airing, which feels like it must have been 2, if not 3 years ago. I am about caught up to where I left off and am excited to watch the new (to me) Season 6. Lalo is such a great villain and re-watching Jimmy slowly become Saul over the years is such good storytelling. The show in general has so many great characters. Can't take my eyes off the screen in scenes with Michael, Nacho, and Chuck. Really enjoyed the German actor who plays Werner Ziegler as well. Vince Gilligan is amazing at what he does

Is Valhalla as gory as Vikings was? I made it through Vikings but not before I gave serious thought to just stopping because I couldn’t take some stuff.

Anyone else watching Silo on AppleTV+? I am thoroughly enjoying it. I hear it's adapted from source material (book? graphic novel?), so I don't know how faithful it is, but it's got good characters. Rebecca Ferguson is awesome, as always. Tim Robbins and Common also play important roles. Excited to see where this goes.

Me. I'm reading the book as well. I'm about halfway through and based on what is happening in the book, and the episode titles of the remaining episodes, they will probably split it into 2 seasons.

Love Rebecca Ferguson.

Read the books years ago, so I forgot some of the details. TV shoe has been good, quite enjoying it with my DW.

Watching Welcome to Eden. Very interesting and keeps you engaged. I know people love to hate Netflix but they’ve got a huge number of shows that are truly different from the same ole same ole.

If movies count, the incredible "Three Thousand Years of Longing", an impeccable allegory about love, marriage, and relationships. Swinton and Elba are flawless.

Spy/Master on Max (HBO Max) is excellent. It's partly based off a true story/real events of a Romanian diplomat who was giving secrets to the Russians trying to defect to the US as the walls start caving in on him. It's in English and Romanian, so subtitles are necessary, but the plot, screenplay, and acting are fantastic.

It's currently on episode 4??? of the first season, with new episodes released weekly.

Just started "Backström", a Swedish Nordic Noir set in Stockholm and featuring Evert Backström, a veteran detective who also stars on TV.

Very reminiscent of "Professor T" (the original one in Flemish, not the remake), the main character is a forensic genius who is enough on the spectrum to insult everyone, but not so much that he doesn't roll in the hay every night with a different lady friend. The first season (6 episodes) is about a woman who apparently died twice.

Second season premieres in the U.S. on Sept 19.

Acorn TV.

Started Manifest tonight, got through first 4 episodes. A little slow but good acting and intriguing storylines.
