How much do you think Charlie Kolar’s success at ISU influenced this kid? Local Norman guy who just killed it at TE for ISU for 4 years. Gotta think it helped.
It absolutely helped. Having TE's get drafted is a big deal. We use them.

Taylor Mouser is a recruiting asset too. Love that about him.

We have a TON of young promising TE's. Mostly unproven still, but that room is loaded with potential. Here are the TE's that are sophomores and younger....

Tyler Moore
Gabe Burkle
Andrew Keller
Benjamin Brahmer
Carson Rhodes
Keaton Roskop 2024
Cooper Alexander 2024

That is a crazy list of talented TE's folks!

Pair this with a hopefully improved OL and good RBs and we can absolutely win football games

Agree. I think this season has the potential to be pretty bad, but if either Rocco or Kohl can establish themselves as our definite #1 QB this year, and the OL can improve under Clanton... I think the future could be pretty bright. Might just take a year or two to get there unfortunately. Patience will be required.... which is not my best trait.... as you all know!

Even if the record is not good, if there's glimmers of improvement like having a push up front, establishing an identity etc. then it bodes well.

Last season was like 6 plays away from 6-7 wins but there was still not really any games where everything came together or looked vastly better. Maybe Texas but the end result was still 'need a play, don't make the play'.

I feel Tyler Moore is our next great TE. Can block, has good speed (maybe not quite as agile as Kolar but still athletic). Moore reminds me of a Soehner but a touch smaller and more nimble.

With our WR disappointment I actually would not argue with giving Brahmer a shot at just flexing out and playing WR/TE early. He seems like a Blythe type player.

Wow…WR are disappointing without playing a single game in 2023. That’ amazing. I know it is impossible to improve or to bounce back. Can you at least wait for a couple games before jumping to conclusions especially with a new offensive staff.

He’s not wrong though. Some weak offer lists on the other guys thus far.
When you get in early on guys and are among their first P5 offers, their offer lists are not going to be as impressive. It's a smart tactic in this world of NIL. So no offense, but I'm going to trust their judgement over yours.

I think that Rhodes is moving to OL after a GS year. Still, it's a good point. TE might be the most talented position on the roster. That and probably Safety. CB has the best starters we just don't know much about the depth behind them other than Porter. Unfortunately at TE, the staff failed to get some good recruits while we still had Allen and Kolar, so most of our talent is way young. But in a few years, this is going to be a very, very strong position for us.

Personally, I kind of feel like Moore has been recruited over. He's going to be a solid player, but he saw very few snaps last year when we really struggled at TE outside of Hanika catching the ball. We had no one who could stay in and help a bad OL block. I think that our next great TE is Brahmer, but Keller is going to have something to say about that. And Burkle may get more snaps than any of the young guys this season. He's going to be a monster in the run game.
