I have to go to hyvee to buy west O. If we partnered with a brewery here in Des Moines we could go there and support them and buy beer from the source. That's not what we are talking about here with West O? I haven't had a chance to listen to the podcast yet.
Okoboji! Sweet sweet west okoboji beer water
For the vast majority of people going to Hy-Vee or any place else that carries local brews is going to be easier than going to a brewery, but sure, having a brewery locally would be nice. Who knows, maybe they will be looking to expand soon.I have to go to hyvee to buy west O. If we partnered with a brewery here in Des Moines we could go there and support them and buy beer from the source.
Will give the AD some more credit. With the events they do in okoboji and other areas like that, they have decided to try to grab the people west of 35 and keep a slow immersion into the stuff north of 20 and up to 380 also.
So...what's the 'boycott' about? What side was chosen? I've not heard of either spot so don't really care, just curious during the offseason. OP was missing details.
looks like a late July release date, so makes sense why I haven't seen yet. Thanks for sharing![]()

If West O doesn't distribute to the eastern half of the state, like I am fairly certain they don't, I hope Blum doesn't forget about us eastern IA Cyclone fan beer drinkers. I understand that logistically it probably wouldn't make sense for a brewery in say, Dubuque, to back the Clones when so many of their patrons are probably Hoks, so I get it.
I found a map on their site. Can't link it since my work computer blocks their site, but apparently they currently distribute to:I’m nearly certain West O beers are at Hy Vees statewide, I know they are in Cedar Rapids.
Several of the teams also have outings there. You think about it, what is the richest community in Iowa? Okoboji/spirit lake area.I talked to someone a week ago who would definitely know and he told me that Okoboji is one of, if not their best stops on the tour which kind of surprised me but after thinking about it, NW Iowa just doesn't get a lot of attention from either school so when they do, it makes sense the turnout is great.

I hadn't yet, but will now. Thanks! If you listen to the podcast one of Blum's requirements was statewide distribution
These are easy decisions for consumers. We have options so let’s choose to buy from those companies that support ISU and CF. West-O, Fareway, Cody Road are easy choices for me.
Just curious, why a DSM brewery? West O distributes all over and is Iowa based.I hope we’re still able to partner with a Des Moines brewery where x amount of dollars from every pint sold goes towards the We Will collective
Kum and Go was sold to someone else in the last couple of months. That family doesn't own them any longer.I avoid Kum & Go if other stations are close.
Hyvee usually carries it, their peanut butter porter is really good.
