This is hilarious. Reese hogging the spotlight. I’m sure the whole Hawk roster are household names to their fans.
AR was in the national spotlight pretty much solo for weeks after LSU won, I didn't see much about any of the other LSU players in the national media. And I don't know if any of the others are close to her in NIL $$$, maybe they are.

AR has security that has to follow her everywhere she goes now. She really blew up in recognition following the championship game.

Follow AR on Instgram and you'll see how great her and her teammates get along. In fact at the numerous promotional events she does she usually has a couple teammates along with her. There isn't going to be any friction on that team.

Hard pass. But if that's the case then they should definitely cruise to another title.

The odd gal out, that no one seems to be mentioning, is their star PG recruit. She's either the #1 or #2 recruit in the country, depending on the list, and ordinarily she'd be getting Page Bueckers level attention. Without looking, who reading this can name her off the top of their head? Of course she's from Louisiana so there wasn't much of a recruiting battle or "Who is she going to choose" drama but she's still not getting much mention. Think she might have been Baylor bound if Mulkey was still in Waco.

Yep, a big part of the reason why ratings were so high last year was because of star power and parity. Two #2 seeds played in the championship game.

I knew once Mulkey got to LSU she was going to win big. LSU is a much easier place to recruit and they have much deeper pockets than Baylor. She is going to win at least 5 of the next 7 championships I bet and most of those years no one will be able to touch them.
Hard to say on the bolded. Baylor's info isn't public, but for years I suspected they were doing something shady under the table with paying players. You are talking about a football program that from the Big 12's inception in 1996 to roughly 2009/2010 was completely abysmal and Kansas football levels of bad. Art Briles comes along and they are suddenly having 9-10 win seasons and Heisman candidates with gaudy statistics. Their Men's basketball program was an annual laughingstock as well, and couldn't get out of their own way with players even murdering each other until Scott Drew came along and was suddenly pulling 5 star recruits left and right.

Their metamorphosis from horrid to really really good to sometimes elite happened pretty much over night. That never sat well with me and I hated, HATED, Baylor in the days of their early successes. Since the Briles controversy happened and Iowa State got better at football in recent years, my hate level has eased a little. But I still don't like them nor appreciate how quickly and seemingly easily they were able to emerge from the ashes.

LSU on paper right now is probably the most talented women's team of all time and that is saying a lot because some of the UConn and Tennessee teams were absolutely loaded as well. I don't think anyone comes within 20 points of LSU next year unless it is a backdoor type of cover.

Ah yes, more Hawkeye idiocy. 'Prove it or lose it' - they are starting the process now of devaluing last year's championship if they don't repeat.

I agree on all accounts, but I still don't think they can compare to LSU when it comes to fan support and boosters for their athletic programs not to mention being the only P5 program in a very talent rich state and area.

If Mulkey would have been at LSU for the past 20 years instead of Baylor, I bet she would have won a lot more than the three national titles that she did at Baylor. She has a lot more resources at her fingers now and it will be scary to see what she can do.

Lol, I said if Mulkey keeps the egos in check and this LSU team doesn't have any problems with team chemistry they should cruise to another title. No idea how that = "idiocy" or devaluing last year's title.

They broke TV rating records like three games in a row. Iowa/Louisville was the highest rated non-final four women's bball game. Iowa/USC was the highest rated non-championship final women's bball game. And Iowa/LSU was by far the highest rated women's bball game of all time. That was the Clark effect.

No it’s the media effect. They are already looking for their next hit.

I was thinking more Grayson Allen but I like yours better
Thanks! It may not be perfect, Clark may have better court vision that Jimmer (only averaged 4 assists), but the usage rate, volume scoring and logo 3's scream Jimmer to me. Both are kind of unathletic but scrappy and play hard on offense, and neither like to play defense so they have that in common.
