ISU Mourns Loss of Hall of Famer Dedric Willoughby - Iowa State University Athletics
Dedric Willoughby, an Iowa State Hall-of-Famer and one of the greatest shooters in Cyclone men's basketball history, died yesterday at the age of 49.
damn RIP DW. Such a smooth player, full of energy on both ends of the court. Deadly long range shooter and tough player.....Was fun to watch and really led the team during the time Tim Floyd took the reins after the year of inherited players from Johnny Orr.
Without a doubt, he's the one you want on the line when the chips are on the table. KU game posted above as evidence. Some of you have posted he was before your time. One thing I'll say, he was absolute STONES in crunch time. I've never seen a player -- except maybe Michael Jordan -- who had more of a penchant for sticking in the DAGGER. A team would make a little run to get close, he'd sprint down and nail a three and just suck the life out of them. Definitely belongs in the conversation of all-time greats.
