Doesn’t matter, though. He has inside information on game plans, injuries, strategies … while he can’t point-shave or affect the outcome himself (and he had no idea when he placed the bet whether he might have ended up playing), it’s still a hard no to bet on your own team’s games.
I get that, it's definitely illegal and rightly so. I'm just saying that there is still no reason to question the integrity of any FB game results, because he didn't play. The DCI concluded that nobody placed bets on games they played in. So that's good, at least.

I’d heard there was one player who’s out for the year, a few 6 games, and the rest 1 game. I’m guessing Dekkers was by far the biggest offender. And obviously being the starting QB is a huge deal as well.
Yeah, I heard their were 3 different groups, so that matches up. I didn't hear any of the actual punishments.

It doesn't matter at this point... he gone.

Was that wrong?

In all seriousness, Dekkers should had known better. And this should be a learning experience for all college athletes. You just can’t gamble on your sport, let alone involving your own team. Doesn’t matter if you are riding the bench or playing, you just can’t bet involving your own team.

Luckily the QB room has good depth. Next man up. Good luck, Dekkers.

So Hunter is done in college, he won't be able to play anywhere. So is it too late to try and get to an NFL camp? He's 3 years removed from High School.
The NFL loves gamblers so I'm sure they'll be beating down his door...

Whether it's too late or not, doesn't matter, no NFL team would touch him with a 100 foot pole. You can bet on that. And the only reason isn't his gambling.
