According to Iowa Courts Online, the offense occurred November 7, 2021 and the OSU game was Oct. 23. It could mean that it happened on various occasions and the one in particular cited in the complaint happened on November 7, it could be that that is when he allegedly tampered with records or something else. It also said the DCI agent who cited him is out of Diamond Jo Casino.
More seriously for Hunter, it is an aggravated misdemeanor, which carries up two years in prison.

That what I was wondering too. Hunter might have a LOT more to worry about than ever playing football again for anyone. If he was placing bets under someone else's name.... he could be in some serious trouble, right?

People on the sidelines can directly impact the game. For example, Dekkers might be used to communicate plays to the quarterback. I’m not saying he did impact the game, because the DCI said he didn’t, but in my lifetime I can think of a few times when a sideline player did impact the game.

Doesn’t matter, though. He has inside information on game plans, injuries, strategies … while he can’t point-shave or affect the outcome himself (and he had no idea when he placed the bet whether he might have ended up playing), it’s still a hard no to bet on your own team’s games.
I get that, but that has nothing to do with what I was replying to.

So underage too on top of it... wasn't even thinking about that. Ouch... this just keeps getting worse.
And denied it when asked about it. If he comes clean right away, it probably doesnt escalate to this point you would think

What’s very concerning to me, is that all along we have been told that DraftKings, etc., have safeguards that prevent this. Obviously, something broke down in Hunters case. Another big question is at what point did authorities realize this. He played a full season after he bet on the team. Why was it easy for Hunter to fool authorities for that long?

Well, and we all know you can get a bookie on any college campus….so was there actually other bets made, on Iowa state games, with a bookie? It’s not out of the question

He was underage, over the new limits, on campus, and concealed it under his mom’s name… while betting on a game he was a backup in. You literally couldn’t add anything else to make it sound more ridiculously stupid.

With the right lawyer and judge, that's his ticket out of this.

"Your honor, because the gambling app didn't due it's due diligence in verifying his identity, my client is not at fault. Furthermore, none of his bets placed after the date he downloaded the app can be considered valid bets because they are based on invalid personal data. Those bets must all be cancelled. Then, because there are no bets on the record, I move to have this case dismissed and all records expunged."

His new cadence will be "would you like fries with that?"

Weren‘t we informed when this started that the investigation did not involve wagering on their own sport?

It matters not I guess. He is done.

There are safeguards, but he was using his moms info. Again, had he come forth originally, the investigation probably doesnt get to that point, but thats my speculation. I think we chalk this up to a blessing in disguise

I'm guessing we were. The media was so weird with this story. They'll speculate on everything, but they refused to on this. I'm guessing Iowa State knew what was up though, but couldn't say anything.

So basically, there are no safeguards, when you can use your mother’s info.
