I'd guess pretty much every law enforcement agency isn't profitable.
If a la enforcement agency was profitable then people would complain they only target money making endeavors…like speeding tickets or financial crimes

Let me clarify a few things. Below lines up with everything I’ve posted for a couple months now.

  1. ISU had some info that Hunter was underage when some bets were placed.
  2. ISU did not know he bet on ISU Football games.
  3. ISU had some info that he may have bet on other ISU sports.
  4. Rumors about the severity, him doing things under his moms account, etc all leaked from Dekkers talking.
  5. ISU purposely did no digging themselves.
  6. Hughes was added with the assumption there may be significant ramification, but knew no details.
  7. ISU was blindsided today, so much so that they did not even have the canned press releases ready.
  8. Like I said all along, the initial info ISU got was subject to change as the investigation unfolded, and it did.
  9. Compliance still has not received full details, nor will they on specific legal cases.
  10. It has been assumed since early June that things were going to get worse as the investigation unfolded as there was a lot of openness in DCI interviews.
  11. There are expected to be some additional charges possible.
  • ISU had some info that Hunter was underage when some bets were placed. WHAT?!
What are the sources of 1,2,3,5? Dates?

True, it just seems that ISU and Iowa are being targeted disproportionately when there's certainly illegal gambling going on elsewhere. Why aren't other schools like UNI or Drake being probed as well? Why don't other states investigate their own schools?

I’m not defending Dekkers at all because it was a dumb choice but the whole sports betting culture is everywhere. You see in game odds during broadcasts and sports betting shows plus all the sites have promotions to get new bettors. I’m surprised this doesn’t happen more (it definitely does) where kids get NIL money and fire it on something they have control or inside information about. Hopefully he can rebound somewhere and continue to play at the NAIA level

“Documents said Dekkers participated in a scheme with his parents, Scott Dekkers and Jami Dekkers, to conceal his online gambling and made it appears that bets placed by Hunter Dekkers were made by Jami Dekkers.”

A great question that those who are going after Campbell in this thread should answer.
Remember when last years/months you were thinking CMC was gone? Forget about that nonsense.

Oh, there will be more to come from other states. Much more.

This sucks now, but this is probably going to happen in-season this year in other states which would be much worse, IMO.

This is exactly what I was trying to say lol. The numbers are so so misleading. You can literally break even forever and continuously increase that amount
I now see I was mathing wrong before (I’m so used to losing my bets I didn’t know how to calculate wins!)

You all are right, he didn’t need that high of a bankroll. And, yes, those numbers are very misleading!

I'm SOOO done with KXNO! All they ever talk about on their shows is gambling. BetFred this, Draft King that. All their shows are sponsored by these online gambling platforms. And people wonder where the players get these freaking ideas.

Even before all this broke in May that ISU was potentially losing players to the gambling investigation, all Miller talks about is his gambling and the sports lines. Heather and Sean haver their betting segment every show also.

I doubt that's true. If that came out... then Campbell would HAVE to go too.
Slow down there cowboy! There is no need for that kind of speculation and judgement at this time. Not even on this discussion board. You've got your cart wildly in front of your horse.

You are simply reinforcing others opinion of you to latch onto the most negative thing and then run with it incessantly. I was hoping you would stop doing this? There's still time but you need to stop now. No ifs or buts.

Go get involved in the realignment thread.
