I'm way behind on this thread but I was unprepared for the hilarity that was this tweet.
I'm late to this comment and I see the awards so I know I'm in the minority, but I disagree. It's not their fault...but... These kids are under their tutelage. This is a message that shouldn't need to be pounded into their heads but maybe I'm wrong. The amounts don't matter. You can't bet on your own team or anything you have a relationship with rules or not. The rules say definitely not. Tell the kids once a month do not gamble and is probably doesn't happen. If it does... maybe you're not a great teacher.
I love Campbell and I don't think this is his fault. But to say zero responsibility... I don't agree with that. You're the leader. Lead.
How would you know how often the players are told to not gamble?

I do it this way. I figure that the ones who gambled should have been told one more time, because that's the one time they would have listened, and everyone knew it and did nothing.
Therefore, shut down this rogue program.
Iirc Jamie was on the radio I think and he pretty much said that the athletic department makes it abundantly clear no one can gamble. I seriously think this is an instance of kids thinking they are stupid enough to get away with it. Like the hunter dekkers twitter video going around of him betting 500 dollars on the Iowa game (he says week 2 so I assume he meant this year) with that girl. He even says in the video. Please don’t post this video since it is technically illegal.
Hunter knew what he was doing was wrong. He was trying to hide it.

Yep that's why even piss ass drunk in that video Dekker's says "please don't post this it is technically illegal." Even if the bet itself with the lady isn't real drunk words are sober thoughts.
Any sympathy from me goes out the window when you gamble on your own team. It's the one major no-no in all of sports
Probably not, but at the very least you wonder why he would recruit players like this in the first place.
Oh come on. Like no kid has ever changed from high school to year three of college? He gambled. He didn’t commit a violent crime.
