As far as the pod ideas go, I just don't see an order that doesn't have us in with WV, Cincy, and UCF. I hate it, but it's the only one that makes unbiased sense to me.

My biased brain wants to keep a pod together with the old Big 8 teams, just doesn't seem likely to me.

I doubt very much that we will have pods, but if we do it is because of travel expenses. Houston would be in that pod.

Houston is the only other logical fit, but I figured they'd want a Texas pod. I hope you're right man.

Ya I agree, I've had the same thoughts, it depends on what the primary motivation would be to form the pods, Travel, Preserve Existing rivals, Equalize each pod's perceived strength. The only other school that would make sense in the east, is Houston, who was in AAC with Cincy and UCF. Then keep ISU with the Kansas pair and then either oSu or CU.

If we do add two more schools, we'd have a perfect setup for a "5 team old school" Big 8 pod with CU, KU, KSU, OK St, and the mighty Cyclones! But they may want CU in with the 4 corner schools and BYU. Who knows, but I just want to keep the old Big 8 schools together in some way.

JP is like the Godfather of Big 12 ADs both in terms of tenure and accomplishments.

I cannot believe he'd allow us to be in a pod or have those teams as our geographic protected rivals.

Yeah I think I saw Dallas had its record 19th day in a row above 100 and I'm guessing Lubbock is hotter on average than Dallas.
Lubbock is much less humid than Dallas, makes a big difference. In fact, Lubbock summer weather is more similar to Phoenix than Dallas. I worked at Taco Tech for 5 years, so I remember those "dry heat" summers well!
