I guess i was naive to think players wouldnt be stupid enough to bet on their own sport, much less their own games. With the numbers coming out, I would not be surprised if this kind of thing is a lot more widespread throughout CFB than I would have thought. Seems the issue is just not looking for it.
And someone had to know it to withhold them from camp. And no one asked or answered the hard questions.
Honestly, even if they didn't bet on ISU games, they should all be gone regardless. From everything we have heard (and no reason to doubt it), it is made crystal clear to every athlete and coach that gambling isn't allowed, period. I believe I've read they also signed acknowledgment forms that they understood this.

Depends on the book's license with the state. In Iowa, part of the license is they have to report student athletes or employees that engage in betting. Maybe that's not the case in other states, it should be, but maybe it's not?
This was started by the book informing the DCI as they're required to.
I just never would have believed this many players would bet on their own teams' games. I know nobody thinks they'll be caught, otherwise they wouldn't do it but still this just blows my mind.

It was asked and talked about at ISU media day. Campbell said he can't talk about it. Brock was specifically asked about, Campbell said he couldn't say why Brock was not practicing.
Man, Brock is going to have the weirdest career I can remember for a football player. One of the highest ranked recruits ever at ISU, plays behind two NFL backs, gets his chance/gets hurt, then gambles away his senior year.
And it's WAY easier in today's world to prove it than it was when Pete Rose was doing it.

For years I have enjoyed a good chuckle when a new commit says, "I can't wait to be apart of the basketball program in Ames!" when what they really mean is "a part of."
This was the same joke in reverse. Just gently poking fun at people misusing the phrase.

Remsburg might be somewhat the smartest one of them all but still dumb. He might have the smallest penalty of all.
