For game day you will want it in your wallet. Unless you have better luck with Internet than most at ISU on game day.

I've had no issues with tickets in Google Wallet although sounds like how they will be scanned at the gate will be different this year. I had issues already last year at some games my GA parking not wanting to scan for the parking attendants but they didn't mess around and just let me in anyways.

The internet/data issues on game day is the biggest thing as with this new Ticketmaster system where the code apparently refreshes frequently better hope the data service is greatly improved this year else going to be a lot of delays and frustrations with people trying to get their Cyclones app to load. There are other stadiums that have public wifi, would think with the move to digital ticketing and all the interactive stuff they promote during the game it would be a good time to invest in some public wifi at Jack Trice to make the experience better. Seems like US Cellular and TMobile have better data on game day than Verizon which is what I have and is probably what the majority of fans have which is why the service is not great with that many people in 1 area. I basically stay off my phone for the most part when I get inside the stadium as it takes too long for things to load to even bother with checking ESPN or social media.

I just tried to transfer a General Parking permit and it won’t let me. Get a circle with line through it. It would let me transfer my season parking pass but I don’t want to do it that way

Help
This is what I get. Notice the transfer and sell boxes at the bottom are shaded and not an option

For those concerned about this, Try the following that may help ease any anxiety.

  1. Go to your Cyclones App and access a ticket for any game
  2. Hit view Barcode - this will display the Live Tix barcode that will refresh a different unique barcode
  3. Switch your phone to airplane mode(turning off all data connections)
  4. Go back to Cyclones App and watch the barcode refresh as many times as you need in order to feel better about this working with no data connection

This is essentially the same functionality the Wallet (Apple or Google) will use except you can't visually see it happening with the NFC technology.

You should be able to screenshot that parking pass, believe the 'live' non-screenshot tickets are only for the game.

ETA - otherwise, just pull it up on the website/app before getting off the highway. Parking passes shouldn't have the service issues that you would typically have entering the game (especially if you pull them up before you get to Elwood).

Nobody that I know, and I know a lot of them. Just your bias. Doesn't say much for what you think of your parents/grandparents.
I am not likely to renew my tickets. Sure I could update everything. But I am the customer and I can make that choice. I know there are not many like me who stands on this principle but I don't think I am the only one.

I am not a big booster. I doubt anyone within the Iowa State athletic department knows my name. I know they haven't responded to my two emails on this topic and that is another of my frustrations as a customer.

For reference, In the end I spend $15-$20k a year with ISU. It will not hurt me one bit to step back and save the money. I have been a two tickets season ticket holder for years and I attend at least one road game a season.

Quite the principle to stand on...

I'm not going to do the things that I enjoy because they're making me learn a new skill that might also be useful in other parts of my life.

OK Boomer...

I am going to assume that you are done going to all events ISU or not then because unfortunately this is the trend and will likely be standard practice everywhere in a couple of years.

He'd obviously prefer to have his paper ticket and get to the gate and realize that somebody else has reprinted the bar code so that he doesn't get in at all.

Dude if you want to cancel your tickets because you're too lazy to learn how to push a couple buttons on your phone more power to you. Personally if I was going to cancel my season tickets I'd at least trash the coaches or the prices or something instead of using 'I'm too old to figure out how to push the right buttons on my phone."

This is the dumbest hill to die on that I've ever seen. For Christ's sake, you're complaining about this on an internet forum that you had to sign up for and learn how to use. You can't be that averse to technology.

The funny thing is 99.99% of the people who are "upset" about the switch aren't even upset for the right reason. TM rolled out the rotating QR technology for CONTROL, rather than the BS story they'd like you to believe (curbing fraud).

If they gave two ***** about their customers they'd invest money to educate the public about fraud and lobby government to hold the banks more accountable for making it easy, and sometimes outright allowing, fraudsters on their payment systems (Zelle). Ticket fraud is more of a front-end problem (exchange of funds) rather than a backend one (fake tickets).

If the payment systems (and Facebook) weren't so complicit and people so gullible (stupid) these problems wouldn't exist. Yet Ticketmaster used it as a ruse to dupe politicians and consumers into thinking it was helping when it's not. Instead it allows them to control data, transfers, pricing, etc.

Parking passes are live tickets as well.
