It's crazy to me that Fran and Kirk's offspring aren't automatically the worst examples of nepotism in their fb and basketball programs.

Iowa's previous basketball coach played a kid who was even worse than 6 year starter Conner McCaffe and also potentially worse at basketball than Kirk's kid is as an offensive coordinator.

I bet you could look at every college and pro team at every level and not find three separate cases of nepotism at that level.

Meanwhile we had ol Greg worried that his kid Dougie wasn't good enough to play in the Big 12.
I don't remember, was Lickliters kid on scholarship and get playing time? If he was a walkon with little playing time, nepotism doesn't really apply to me.
Talk to people that knew him as a kid and young adult. He is a ginormous DB, and deep down, hates Iowa State. It's good to see that he is a capitalist and wants a career, but I refuse to listen because of his hatred and back-handed/condescending comments about my Clones. Sorry, CW.
Based on the stories he tells about his behavior as a teenager he's basically admitted to being a douche when he was younger. I'm not gonna crush him for actions 20 years ago. A bunch of you are citing backhanded compliments or outright insults to ISU on 2GNC. I don't hear anything other than good natured **** talking.

I can't remember if he had a scholarship but he played meaningful minutes in meaningful games, not just garbage time. I'm not sure he was talented enough to play for any college of any level in Iowa, he probably was trying his best.

That was great. I have never hated hassel he is funny as ****.
Agree....always have loved his humor and his takes....sure his team is our rival, but I really think he is talented.

In fact, when the IowaEverywhere line ups were announced, thought getting Hassel was a pretty big deal.

True. And kind of wound up screwing UNI in the process. Perhaps not intentionally, but I seem to recall that their recruiting was not helped by the timing of Doug's switch to Creighton.
Yep. It was May and UNI had no shot to fill that scholarship let alone what was lost by not having him for 3 or 4 years.

UNI was really the only loser in the whole thing. McDermott and Tuttle would've been ridiculous together.

A lot like the b!tching about KXNO. Complain about being slighted, yet they're clearly listening to it...

The over the top smack talk has only come recently. I noticed it on Twitter and then it's started to spill into the show. I really enjoyed their reasoned rivalry takes when the show began. But at some point recent;y, it's felt like Hassel is either bored or made the conscious decision to ramp up the smack for engagement.

I enjoy the show. I can also ***** about one of the hosts. I stopped listening for most of the summer, but started back in once football season was approaching. Only to find that Hassel can't give a legitimate take on the ISU QB situation after CW gives 10 good minutes on McNamara. It then devolves into "You Iowa State fans..."

Yes, it is wierd. If half of the comments are true (kids he grew up with), I firmly believe people don't fundamentally change way deep down and he shows his true side with his condescending and back handed compliments. He is a typical u know what - he didn't go.to Iowa.

The whole schtick about not going to the school but being a fan is one of the dumbest things ever. Stop.
