I liked CMCs explanation for the clock management. It had to be done right. We don’t score that td, we had no shot. We had a shot, all you can ask for
And you only call those kind of garbage if you know your offense lacks the ability to make plays. He knows the offense is trash.

We’re going to keep hitting that “most one score losses over the past X years” graphic all season baby! Woooo!
How many times do I have to explain Campbellball?

He thinks if it is close, his superior coaching will win it.

Our opponents know this, and adjust, by taking timely and appropriate risk, which if/when they hit, are the difference in the game.

Campbellball means are opponents have all adjusted, and while our defense make keep games close, they will still be losses.

The only thing I'm excited about for the rest of the season is to have more evidence of being proven right so finally more fans will hopefully realize it's over.

Our coach is no longer hungry, feels absolutely no pressure to win, has no sense of urgency during games, and doesn't understand the importance of the in-state rivalry game.

Sunshine pumpers will keep bringing all they got because so many refuse to see that the CMC moment has passed, and now he is just cashing checks.
He wants to be Kirk's predecessor
… or any bowl. The O must improve if we want to beat anyone not named Ohio.
True. I'm out. On to basketball.

Every year Iowa just sucks the life out of the crowd and the team

THE BAD:
1. Clock management at the end of the game drove me insane
2. Another turnover for an easy score
3. Noel's stone hands returned and the punt he let roll 30 yards

THE GOOD:
1. The way Rocco responded after throwing a pick. Drove us right down the field for points
2. Pass blocking was very good I thought
3. Other than 1 run and a couple passes, the defense didn't let them have anything
4. This might be the youngest team in FBS and should improve each week, as long as the Scheelhaase/Campbell improve with them we can still have a decent season

I like the optimism and I think your analysis is spot on. Everyone is just so tired of losing to Iowa in the same boring and excruciating fashion every year and everyone is tired of the "winning in the margins" mantra that we've somehow never been able to figure out in 8 years.

Probably not, but conference wins are going to be hard to come by.

I am as frustrated about yesterday as anyone (definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome).

But Iowas defense is built to stop offenses like ISU. Tough up the middle and great secondary. Most big12 defenses will be easier to run on. Ksu, texas will be tough. I dont see any other top 20 defenses out there. Maybe OSU?

The defense will keep ISU in most games. Offense will be better most weeks, despite being limited at qb. Special teams is no longer a liability.

But if they are gonna play this way (close games), they gotta get a LOT smarter about in game management.

I am not giving up on 2023 yet.
