Yep. I think it's more coaching than lack of talent but I've been getting blow back for the past couple of weeks. Either way, we aren't getting that high class of skill player. Kohl might turn out to be pretty good but he didn't look ready against UNI.

Which can't be used to pay the players.

How many snaps did he get? I’ve heard this line a lot, but I don’t think it’s wise to make any judgements on it. Look at how they do it in the NFL. You have to get the young guy reps, in the NFL they just throw them out there day 1 and you just know it’s not going to be pretty most of the time. You have to take those lumps because without experience, and without making mistakes there’s not going to be progression.

Let’s face it it difficult to recruit to ISU and Campbell has done a better job than most of our past coaches! He was just like most of us unhappy with the outcome! But who really knows how many of the players were really sick? Plus loosing 5 starters for gambling and having QB with no experience doesn’t help! I just hope he uses the portal for next season!
That’s all true but still doesn’t explain the continued mystifying poor coaching decisions and gutless football. I feel like the coaches actively hurt our chances to succeed on offense.

And I’m so sick of the ultra conservative approach. We started the game with a possession on their side of the field… we ran 3 times and punted on 4th and 2 from their 42. No aggressiveness, no urgency to score. That crap does not win in college football and it sets the tone that the coaches have no confidence in our offense.

I’d rather be close and lose by alittle no matter the opponent then lose by a ton to everyone and not be competitive.
I have often wondered if this is the real reason Coach doesn't want to change the offense. Think for example if some sort of "pass to open up the run" approach wouldn't work out, and now we gave even shorter offensive drives and time of possession gets way worse. Now we'd be losing by 20+ per game instead of by 7 points.

That would be horrible to have a leader that wants to "lose by fewer points", but maybe CMC thinks we don't have the skills to win by changing the offense.

Probably somehow "encouraging" the style is the ugly example of Iowa showing you can be stubborn/terrible on offense and have a great defense and still win.

He had about a 1 second clock before he was looking to run. He was very rushed. He's young, it will slow down.

Between the gambling probe, the Ohio loss, the loss to Iowa which makes him 1-7 against them, and now this, I'm struggling to remember a worse 3 month stretch for an ISU football coach. That's a pretty incredible achievement considering our football history. I love CMC and reaching these depths was unfathomable 4 years ago, but here we are.
I've only been a real fan since 2002, and I can think of a handful of worse stretches. Also, Matt is 1-6 against Iowa.

Unfortunate the fan said it but the truth is CMC is flat out stealing a quite large paycheck from ISU. What happened to Players, Formations, Plays? How about Winning in the Margins? None of that is happening. The players and coaches came out flat and not ready to play. CMC better take an honest look in the mirror and get it back on track.
He has not in the last seven years and will not change.

Dude said after the Iowa loss , that is the best his team has played. He has lost his mind

I wish I was as optimistic as you. There’s gonna be a lot of B10 jobs open next year that can pay double what we can pay just because of media deals. And if we haven’t had a single coach go over .500 why the hell would you take less to come here? I don’t understand why our fanbase is so out of touch
Realistically there should only be 2-3max big ten jobs open next year due to how many coaches were just hired in the last 1-2 years. SEC isn’t going to have to many openings either so if you do move on it’s a fairly decent environment for it

The thing is, going 3 and out running vs 3 and out passing is the same to the defense. Whichever approach is more likely to lead to the offense moving the ball is the best one, both to provide the defense rest and better field position.

A real ISU fan?? I doubt it. Jersey and hat look new. A guy with beads and a Pom Pom in the back of his pants. I have reservations about this guy being an ISU fan. If he was upset about Campbell, he would have sounded more po’d about it. He looked at the camera kinda of almost smiling about it.
Dude.

Why aren't you banned yet?

He said it was the best ISU had played against Iowa under him.

He may have been right in some ways because ISU has been pretty bad in September no matter what.

I honestly think at this point he has grown to hate the ISU fanbase and is trolling us.

How dare we question the Emperor's sense of style!

Being honest, If i poured all the time and effort that Campbell does into this football team and recruiting and all that, and then have my team go out there and play like ass against a MAC team and lose, I am pretty sure I would blow a ******* gasket too to anyone that said **** to me. I wanna lose my **** when my children do it, so im not gonna judge him on this reaction really at all

I can believe that. There were some douchers that just keep yelling and yelling.

People going nuts about this is what I dislike about many of the fans on here. They make their $100 donation to NIL or buy a ticket and think they can be total asses because of it. They say they will only donate when we win, after we went to the fiesta bowl, I’m going they didn’t then send in that $25,000 check.
I did send that check.

It bounced and JP blocked me.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s really suspect that a K-State fan account was the first to post this video?
The guy who took the video is an ISU fan who travels to every away game. It was posted to a protected Twitter account for about 3 minutes before it was deleted but people took screen recordings.

This is the most sensible and accurate post I have seen here all day. It can get way worse and we could be one bad hire to going back to that.

At this point, all we can do is hope that today is a day of realization and is a turning point.

Saben did it around 10 years ago, Harbaugh recently did it and they’ve taken control of the Big 10 and won it 2 years in a row. If those highly successful coaches can change, adapt, and adjust how they operate so can Matt. If not, it will be his own demise.
I hope you are right, he flat out said the o line was embarrassing yesterday, so I hope something changes.

We threw that seam route and tgat was about it.

Earlier someone said the guy yapping was also yapping at Players all game long. Allegedly Campbell said to the effect “you can yell at me, but don’t yell at the players”

If that’s true, then it makes it somewhat ok.

Protecting his players.

If anyone else has better info, please oblige
So...

Can anyone actually type out the specific words Campbell said? Not that he "was angry", but the exact quote...

For all we know this guy has been harassing him for awhile. Imagine if someone sent a message to you, "once you're on the hot seat I'm gonna f*** your wife." And then shows up and yells at you that you're in the hot seat. How would you react?

We have no idea what Camlbell said and no idea what the history may or may not be here. Our sports-gossip society is so quick to jump in *anything* before knowing all the facts.
