I kept hearing how great this line coach is….well, I don’t think the line is any better! Actually, I think they are worse. So far this season, we have rushed for 259 total yards on 95 attempts in 3 games… a little over 86 yards a game at 2.73 yards per rush. That is not getting it done in the trenches! I know we had probably 2 starters that gambled their way off the team but I keep hearing “next man up”! At this stage in CMC’s tenure, we should be able to withstand that and have adequate backups, ….especially against a MAC team!

Way too early to.place blame here. He just got here. Off season will be huge this year. 4 seniors departing. Will need to get transfers that fit his style.

Interesting, as always, to hear Bruns’ take on it today. A lot to digest about the heavy formations, adjustments to make for individuals, etc. He also said (almost an exact quote): “We’re only three games in, but this group is clearly better coached than last year.” He was very down on what he saw last year, so I don’t think he’s a complete sunshine-pumper. Time will tell.

I'm giving in for a year on him to get his guys and his system.

It has been bad though so far.

Bruns is the biggest sunshine pumper in the CyMediaVerse.

Doesn’t mean he won’t be right, but it’s hard to trust it right now

That former player from 2000 that was all in about all of the NFL talent on the roster is scratched out. His take on the Oline doesn't hold a drop of water.

He’s a homer, but he sure laid into the offensive personnel last year. Who are you going to listen to for player perspective? I like Bruns and Sage when he gets a chance to watch the qb play.

Never buy into the offseason hype or reviews, only thing you can trust is the product on the field.

Bruns was loving the OL last year until it was impossible to deny that they were struggling.

Call it what you want, but he ended up being completely wrong about the OL last year after a few games.

So an OL that has some experience in the Big 12 gets like 1 ypc against a MAC team? Even with the Remsburg loss the turnover and experience level of the OL is pretty typical. And you just got dominated by Ohio.

My father in law coached OL at a jump for years and said they blew assignments repeatedly and had **** technique run blocking.

I thought Bruns didn’t hold back last year as things were getting worse and frustration was growing. What he said after yesterday is valid, why pull in 2 extra TE if they can’t actually block. All that’s doing is compressing things making it more difficult t run.

Could he have been more upset and voiced more frustration? Yeah, but I wouldn’t totally write him off as a sunshine pumper.

I’m by no means defending what we saw yesterday on offense and I’m past the point of total frustration watching this offense and stubbornness from the coaching staff.

Bruns the biggest sunshine pumper? He was pretty raw last season about the O line. Have you heard Harklau? He was boasting about the oline and saying there were multiple NFL RBs on the team...um no.

Yes agree and I don't want to pick on him too much but Easton Dean can't block. He shouldn't be on the field for that stuff. Give me Tyler Moore for that or maybe we just need to use more multiple WR sets to spread the D out.

Clanton didn't show notable improvement in Cedar Falls until year 3 which also happened to be the year he had two NFL tackles plus two other guys that have bounced in and out of the league.

You've got to let him get his guys in. This wasn't going to be a flip of a switch plus this line is way smaller than the line he wants. He wants monsters. There aren't monsters on this roster.

CSU has 10 new offensive lineman. Not sure we have anyone serviceable. Watched the center let his man through the whole game. He has to be the worst.

He's no Harklau, but he's somehow fooled some of our fanbase into thinking he's anything but a sunshine pumper. Which is fine, I just don't listen as closely to his analysis.
