**** that. If you want to take a stand as you’ve made 10s of millions of dollars sit out the Ryder Cup and quite acting like a spoiled brat. There are plenty of other guys willing to “sacrifice” their time for that event. We get it, you wanted to go to LIV but couldn’t take the backlash.
So you think the promoters should make every dime of the revenue? I don't feel strongly either way on this one, but that's what your position must be.

Not completely sure, but the official Ryder Cup website says its a blind draw. Apparently all of the sessions are that way.

Presidents Cup is different, snake draft format for singles matches at least.....I've seen video of that in the past.
Ya. I think it might have been the presidents cup that I am remembering.

Actually don't hate matches 2-9...could make the front nine interesting to watch.

Don't understand Scheffler leading off.....not after how he has played these two days.
Idk… you have to kind of roll the dice a bit there. Any chance of the US getting 8.5 points includes Scotty playing like world #1.

I don’t work for free either so if that’s what it’s about then I’m fine with it.

Have we considered that he didn’t want to wear the hat because they look terrible? Because they look like a hat you’d buy at a truck stop.
I’ll see if I can find it but the future value of playing in a Ryder cup isn’t nothing. It’s one week out of the year you’re asked to play in what many of them call the best event of their careers. They get 100k to give to a charity of their choice and 100k to a PGAA nominated charity. They also don’t have to play if it’s not worth it either so, again, take your stand or don’t buy the passive aggressive ******** Cantlay pulls any time money is involved is some ***** made ****. If a European tried billing this stuff they’d be straightened out immediately but the problem is a lot of the American team and leadership, including Tiger hold some level of the same sentiment and I don’t really think the current network of good ol boys care nearly as much about the RC as they care about being a RC captain and Peacocking around for a couple years.

It always goes that the Ryder cup requires guys with guts and pride. Seems like if Keegan Bradley was on this team it would have been a day for him to make clutch putts and fist pumps.

Yeah, when you’re this far behind, matchups don’t matter a lot. You need the whole team to play well and hope you get lucky with the guys who just play okay.

Yes. For decades the RC is the only way the European Tour has been able to exist. It bankrolls entire two year runs. In America it finds most of what the PGAA wants to do.

Hopefully you're kidding.... I can't imagine a dumber take than this.

The vast majority of U.S. professional golfers would give anything to play in this event for nothing.

Even if Cantlay is a POS and his $60 million he's made playing golf isn't enough for him... he knew beforehand that it doesn't pay... so tell Zach you're not going then.

I love how Cantlay played today, he was as clutch as you can be, but if all this stuff is true about him.... he can eat sh*t for all I care.

They shouldn’t have played until Sunday.
On to singles: what the hell does the US side even try?

I'd run out Homa, Burns, Cantley, Morikawa, and Thomas first.....hope that Europe tries to end it early and puts Hovland, Rahm, and Rory in those first 5 matches so we have at least a chance to knock out their big guns. Need to win 4 of the first 5 outright for any chance at all.

Speith and Fowler are huge liabilities. Scheffler's confidence looked gone completely after the alternate shot beat down.....hope he gets MacIntyre.

Feels like I’m in high school reading this thread, all the gossip and drama. It’s just golf.
This is what happens when the event is decided midway through day 2
It's not, people ******* love drama, mostly by creating it where it doesn't exist. The Cantlay not wearing a hat as a form of protest thing is hilarious, but some people just live for that.
I don’t think I believe the whole hat deal but his reputation is going to lead to that stuff. When you’re a ****, people are willing to believe you do **** things and he does think he should be getting paid.

He does seem to have a big head and as someone in the same boat, you aren’t just throwing on whatever they give you.

Have we considered that we’re talking about a hat because the media wants us to talk about a hat?
