Sad this is coming up again, seriously hope it doesn't happen. They have 1 NCAA appearance outside of Mark Few's tenure. They play in a weak conference and will not be able to sustain this level of success long term. If you're going to go basketball only, grab UConn and an eastern Catholic school.

Gonzaga is a terrible plan.

If the conference keeps growing, you’re going to need to move the tournament to a location with multiple sites to have simultaneous games being played. Really can’t get more than 4 games played per site per day. So to go beyond 16 is going to really extend the tournament out a ways.

At that point just say the top 12 or so teams go to the conference tournament. If a team is 2-16 in conference play it's not like fans are going to show up.

You can play an 18 team tournament over 6 days and 9 sessions. It's messy but I'd imagine that's the plan for those leagues. The ACC is going to be really awkward at 17 because playing a single game on that first day is going to have approximately 11 people in the stands.

im still confused to this narrative that gonzaga would instantly suck in the big 12
It's impossible to make 8 consecutive second weekends and not be an elite program.

They'd step in and be at the top of the league immediately and the infrastructure and budget they've put together really raises the floor after Few is gone when there are no football considerations.

They're a slam dunk add to me.
