Echoing statements that I think its a solid beer. It's not trying to be a craft beer, its not an IPA, its nothing fancy. It's something you can drink easily and its better tasting than a cheap beer. After you have a can you're like "yeah, I'd have another". It's a crapshoot when you do something like this that if it tastes really weird people will stay away from it. This is the opposite of that. I would actually describe it as "generic" but in a good way.

It’s the Taylor Swift of beers. You don’t have to love the music but most people can sit down and enjoy it with few qualms.

The problem is, it’s priced like a typical craft beer. I personally enjoy it, but many people would rather save money and get a slightly worse “generic” beer.

Edit: There’s not much they can do about the price though. It’s near impossible for a local brewery to every get costs down much more.

That's kind of the point though, you're getting it knowing why it costs a little more. It's not trying to unseat Busch Light.

It’s definitely better than your mass produced lagers and part of the money goes to support your team. I don’t think it’s a hard decision.

Prairie Trail Hy-Vee had quite a bit on the shelves of their cooler, not sure if they had anymore stashed in their walk in.

Between costs and donating to we will I think it is priced all right.

I gave up looking for Ames Lager in NE Iowa awhile back. Has the situation changed at all and should I start looking again?
I was back in Iowa on the weekend of the UNI game and was able to get some Ames lager from Hyvee in Dubuque on Friday. Went back on Sunday and was still able to get some more to take it home with me.

They did a really good job with it. When you first try it, you think that there will be a bad aftertaste, but it’s not there.

It's a good clean lager. It's priced more than fair for a craft beer that's also donating money

The Des
I keep trying to find that one too. I have also tried all the other ones. All pretty solid choices.
I bought the last two 4 packs at waukee hyvee earlier today. It's pretty solid. Not the best NEIPA I've ever had, but it's good enough that I'll buy it over others to support the cause.

finally having a Ames Lagar that I brought back to Colorado! Also bought a Cyclone Fanatic Cody Road but my wife isn’t to happy that I spent $35 on
I have a bottle of CF Cody Road in my cabinet also. $35 is actually a very fair price for a good bourbon. Just tell her it was a bargain. LOL
