Rocco missed two guys that couldn’t be more wide open and need to be completions and both would’ve been TDs.

But despite a bit of a rough day, he’s done a hell of a job this year, and I’m glad he’s our QB.

OL is really coming along, and Sanders has made terrific improvement.
Agree. Rocco just seems to have an ability to make the right reads and throws, most of the time, while not making too many mistakes.

As he gains more experience, the game will slow down for him even more (it already doesn't seem too fast for him at all) and we will be seeing him hit more of those homerun passes that are wide open. I hope.

I'm sure he has already replayed those two passes in his head about 30x.

Ditto on the OL and Sanders!

There is no intent for targeting. It is th defenders job to not hit the helmet. It’s not a fair rule, but it is the rule.
Then I'm ignorant on the rule. What's the distinction between the penalty and disqualification? I thought a penalty can occur but if there is deemed no intent then there is no disqualification.

That may be the NFL rule? There is only one level for college. It’s either nothing or dismissal.

No distinction. They review all targeting penalties: if it is confirmed by review, the penalty stands and the offender is DQ'd.

What I am saying is that our schedule so far this season, has not been as difficult as it looked like it was going to be. TCU is horrible as is Cinn, we got OSU when they were struggling at the start of the year, and Baylor is not a very good team either. The only conference team we have played so far that is above decent is OU.
Now after saying that we are hitting the hardest part of the schedule, KU, and UT at home and at BYU and KSU.

The big difference is last year we would keep it close and lose in the end, this year we are finding a way to win those game.

Our schedule has been terrible but we can't control that. This is easily the worst the Big 12 has been, top to bottom, (probably) in its entire existence. Even without the weak adds the Big 12 was bad but with them its really bad. BYU, Cinci, Houston, Baylor, TCU, Tech, and UCF stink. WVU might be okay and we caught OSU when they were down (they look much better). We aee striving for and likely achieved mediocrity. That leaves OU, Texas, and KSU as the cream with KU being pretty good and having a good enough offense to beat good teams if the opposing offense has hiccups.

We realky arent a good team but we are improving and that's okay. The big win today was the offensive line as it was the most cohesive performance, regardless of opponent quality, we've seen all season. Rocco didn't play his best and continues to miss on easy, and unfortunately big, throws. My guess is he sees the opportunity and gets a little overpsyched and sails it, as almost all of the misses are overthrows (but almost always on the route line. He's a frosh and mistakes happen but at some point you'd like to see him start hitting some of those. Hopefully that comes.

Some on here care about making a bowl but for me it's more about seeing improvement. Realistically I'd like to see Rocco continue to make gains, the OL show growth in unit performance, and growth and emergence from the WRs. I think the DL can be more disruptive and consistent but I've given up on the LBs. Simply put they are weak group that will continue to be the major chink in the defenses armor.

The major differences from last year is we aren't turning the ball over as much, we are creating a LOT more turnovers defensively, and...the biggest difference...is our STs are not only not terrible they are actually good. Last years team was more talented in most areas but couldn't win close games because of the mistakes. I credit Rocco for the way he carries himself as its a massive improvement over Dekkers.

This year's team was always about setting up for next year. If we get our line straightened out our offense could be really good. Tampa will be a big loss in the secondary but we are fairly deep there. We really should target the portal for LBs as I don't think it's smart to rely on what we have right now. The DL is tough to predict but I think we are better there. STs should stil be pretty strong as well.

Next year's team has the potential to contend for a title if we can fix some issues and see improvement in others. We just need to beat BYU (who sucks), and be competitive in the rest, ideally beating KU next week. We shall see.

I agree with Jack. On the replay it looked like Noel stopped in open spot in the zone and Rocco thought he would keep running.

Probably right but even if Noel continued I think it was high, especially for him. I guess we will never know as he wasn't close to the throw.
