Good news (maybe?) is that BYU is losing to WVU 37-7
It was 37-0 to end the 3rd Q.
They had 30 rushing yards total at that time.
BYU looking very beatable.
Agree, but Have you been to Provo? Don’t care if they have a 4th string qb out there, it will be a blood bath and is a must win.
They play very well at home and suck on the road. It’s also at 9pm

We leave that game with a loss, we could be in trouble.

We opened things up in the 1st half in our previous 5 games (with lots of passes on first down), but we went back to a lot of runs on 1st and 2nd down tonight and KU stuffed them. Plus KU got pressure on Rocco on every 3rd down. We were too predictable. ISU ended with yet another one-score loss in the same fashion we've seen too often. Our defense often seems to give up a TD in the 4th quarter to make it even tougher to complete the comeback.

I did everything I could. Sat in three different seats in the first half. Spent time helping my kid clean their room. As the second half started I left the house to pick up my other kid from their friend's house. When I got home I started making dinner - two separate meals, one for the kids and one for me. I at in the dining room where I can't see the TV. After dinner I did dishes. I even wiped down the stove top. There was nothing else I could do.
You didn’t try watching on phone while on the crapper!

Yes and I am I wrong? When’s the last time we gave up 20 yards a catch?
Who f’ing cares. The defense gave up 21 points to a very good offense. It’s a function of how KU plays. Run the zone read like crazy and hit the big play.

Your defense gives up 21 points and you should probably win most games in this league. Defense had some problems, but they did enough to win.

The offense in the first half was atrocious. It was the reason for the loss.

I've watched the replay of Noel's kick return at least 10 times and he most certainly did not step out. Right after they have a very clear replay that shows the angle from behind and its clear as day. Funny how they never showed that again.

ISU squandered opps or played poorly for large stretches, but that call was horrendous.

We are just Iowa State. If we had Kansas head coach we would have won. Campbell never get us to the promised land. No other coach at Iowa State has taken us to the promised land so Campbell meets our standard.

Neither side was great, still need 30 points to win most big 12 games. Defense wasn't good but the offense really put us behind the 8 ball with that 1st half performance
The ISU defense held KU's offense nearly 14 pts below their conference scoring average coming into the game. That should be plenty good to win against KU. So sad...2 weeks to prepare and the offense was totally not ready to play.

We don't have an answer for defenses that blitz a lot. When they put a ton of pressure on our line, we don't seem to have any answers. We ran a couple screens, buy that's it.

Yep and I really like Rocco but it’s so hard to recover from a pick 6. He’s had a few this year. It’s just putting you so far behind the 8-ball.

It’s not as big a deal if you score 7-17 pts and throw a pick 6. Offense should have got more than 3 at home against a middle of pack big 12 defense in first half.

We saw in second half they weren’t some defensive juggernaut, our own game plan f’d us until we were forced out of it. A familiar theme.

This is what Iowa State does over and over again.

We give them a pick 6 or similar.
then we are sound defensively "except for like 4 plays" which they score on or damage us on. Since the offense can't find their way out of a wet paper bag, that equals a loss.

we are young, so that is what I will chalk it up to.
Nah, it's not that we are young. The problem is coaching.

This staff just turtles at the start of big games, man. They usually find their footing well enough to make a game of it later, but seems to like to give good opponents a head start and play a lot from behind in games like this.

The back half of this schedule is tough. You're not going to be able to manage every variable, every week. You just gotta go out and play for 60 minutes.

Yeah O in first half dug the hole to dig out of especially with the pick six. Giving up a score to start 2nd didn’t help.
Lots of things to point at on the D today but when the O doesn’t show up until the last drive of the first half a team will struggle to keep pace with an O like KU.
