Agreed. The opponent is crap but the footwork, speed, and decisiveness will transfer against ANY opponent.

At times (last year) it seemed like BREs feet couldn't match what his mind wanted to do. That was the quickest, most explosive move to thr bucket I've ever seen from him.

IMO this is the best start to a game of his career here.

Rob has legit size and strength against any front line so I think it’ll carry over.

Kudos to John and Eric for doing this game! I wonder when they got in and how much sleep they got?

Confused on what a charge is anymore.
Ya. They really clouded it up with this new rule distinction.

IMO, the type of charge they need to eliminate is the one Gilbert got called for. Not the guard on guard, perimeter charge.

Can’t believe BRE almost made that reverse layup getting fouled. Kind of nuts compared to a few years ago.

Yeah Gilbert was full speed and a little out of control but defender clearly slid in front of him creating the collision.

He's always had that. But what he's never really displayed is quick footwork and explosiveness. If what we are seeing today 8snr a mirage there's a really good reason to expect it to transfer against better competition.

The more athletic teams feasted on BRE. He didn't have the footwork or explosiveness to avoid becoming an offensive black hole.

Even the reverse layup he just attempted was infinitely more explosive...and fluid. No ******* way BRE does that last year...and looks good doing it.

Our big have been excellent today. Only exception is Wards foul trouble.

Confused on what a charge is anymore.
"According to the NCAA, “a defender will have to be in position to draw a charge at the time an offensive player plants a foot to go airborne to attempt a field goal. If the defender arrives after the offensive player plants a foot to launch toward the basket, officials will be instructed to call a block when contact occurs between the two players.

"The previous rules stated that a defender has to be in position before the player went airborne. Now, the defender will have to be set even earlier in the play."

This new rule, as stated, does not seem overbearing, I guess. Verdict is still out.

I don't think we have seen it called properly in our first couple of games. I think there were a couple of blocks called on our guys, that should have been charges.
