When doing the new Big 12, Arizona is an interesting one with their current coach and play. I don't think by any stretch they belong in the top-5 or anything BUT they are a school who, if they sunk resources into, could be very competitive and have splash years. They have basically just been the KU of the PAC though where they sink so much into basketball. They are fun to watch this year though.
I think Arizona is going to be short on resources for a while. Their president recently revealed they seem to have made a $260 million dollar accounting error.

How does an institution of HIGHER EDUCATION make a $260 million mistake?

Is Boise State trying to be the new Nebraska canning a coach that is 22-14(?) and 5-5 this yr?
With no deep dive that record doesn't look terrible to me.
Boise State probably fears nothing more than a long-term decline of their football program as that is the only reason they have a separate and better deal than the rest of the MW. They really need to have 10-win seasons + beat a good national opponent to keep that "great G5" mantle.

I haven't gone out of my way to watch Boise State play in several years, where I did purposely watch them in the past.

Someone believed Kliavkoff’s revenue projections?

Plenty of games even being on there is all the proof you need that it's not the quality of teams.
Yep and look at the Texas A&M number on ESPN2. Yes they are not good but that number is horrible for that size of school and SEC brand.

I mean is it though? Two awful SEC teams that aren’t ranked and miss st is the Rutgers of the SEC. For a game that is directly competing against the good Miss school and Georgia in the same time slot I’m not remotely surprised by that number.

I mean, Texas Tech and Kansas drew about double and were against even bigger games at noon. And they were on what I'd consider a worse channel. Kansas I guess had something going for it, but most casual Tech fans I'm sure have already given up on the year.

Would a bunch of bars/restaurants etc. have it on randomly throughout the big cities in Texas?

Iowa state/BYU was going up directly against Oregon/USC. Would have been a way bigger number if they put that in a time slot that game usually gets.

Yeah but Kansas was ranked, anytime a ranked team is playing but more I mortality losing people are going to tune in. You have to go all the way down to the 14th highest game (Minn Purdue) to find a matchup between two non ranked teams.

Also A&M isn’t a brand for anything other than money and people making fun of them, they have one, I repeat one, season of double digit wins this millennium.

So should I assume that there were 714K wagers placed on the under for Iowa/Rutgers? Cause why else are people tuning into that game?
That game had 713K more viewers than it should have.

Upcoming slate of games is pretty weak in comparison so expecting viewership to be down on the top 5 or so games.

Yep this week is pretty dull, then the final week you will easily have the highest rated game of the year and then the in state battles with Oregon/Oregon st and the iron bowl.

Just a little shout out to former assistant Alex Golesh, who in his first season at South Florida, has the Bulls one win away from a bowl bid, currently at 5-5.

South Florida had gone 4-29 in their previous 33 games.

I believe at 8 Eastern on Friday they are at UTSA who is undefeated in the American and then they close with Charlotte.

Lots of offense, not a lot of defense but kinda cool that a former assistant seems to be at least somewhat turning around that program fairly quick.
