This isn’t meant to be an anti-Campbell post, but that was pretty much the quintessential “big game” in the Campbell era (see any Iowa game).

- Awful special teams directly costing ISU points
- Mindless penalties killing important drives (seriously, we have to lead the nation in formation/procedure penalties)
- Bad playcalling UNTIL your back is completely against the wall, then it’s too little too late
- Inability to get the momentum changing turnover on defense

If nil doesn’t kill us in the offseason and we show up in September next year. This team has a shot at 10 wins for the first time.
I'm massively concerned about losing Brahmer to a big time program like Michigan or Ohio State that can put him around 4 and 5 star players, give him better exposure, turn him into an even bigger beast than he is now and considerably improve his draft stock.

I have somewhat lesser concerns about Verdon and Cooper. They could probably go to a big name program and not have to play quite as many snaps, which would be good for their style of play.

We should expect better than 6-6. With better coaching this is an 8 win team.
Read through your comment history. You’re either a Hok fan or someone who can only write negative things all the time. If you’re a Hok fan, I’m not sure why you bother posting on a cyclone site. If you just happen to be a negative person, I hope you realize that life is too short to complain about everything.

If we are to be honest, UT doesn't have 2 penalties that took TD's off the board this game isn't that close.

I really hope we use our extra bowl practice and off season to reset our offensive strategy. Yes we should run the ball, but we should be pass first. And if running, use motions, sweeps, wildcat, an option run. Literally any creativity would be an improvement.
It is a good thing some posters on here aren’t OCs. They want Rocco throwing about 70 times. There were some runs that we were trying to get to the edge but it was getting blown up in the middle before the back could get to the edge.

People don’t want to run up the middle for no gain every first down against an nfl looking d line.

They’re right to think that. We get stubborn with forcing the run and it’s just a matter of how long the stubbornness lasts.

Tonight wasn’t horrific with it like the first half of KU we wasted. I’d say two possessions where we were irrationally stubborn forcing it especially on first downs.

Some of y’all need to sack up. There’s been games worth bit***n and moaning about the past 7 years. This isn’t one of them.

That was a brawl and we were severely out gunned in the trenches. That was a toe to toe slugfest. They had a few more haymakers.

Play like that tonight, we win in Manhattan next week and I feel confident in bowl game as well.

Yup, that was a hell of a college football game. Texas gave it all they had. They won and we lost. Tip your hat and move on.

Campbell is now 4-6 vs top 10 teams. Seems to me he has done quite well in “big games”

I think one thing that needs to get figured out and has been an issue for awhile is us giving up points with a minute or two left before halftime.

I come away from this game conflicted. We showed up and had our chances vs a great texas team. The team and staff deserves credit for that. But we also saw a lot of the same old same old problems that have plagued us in many games which makes it frustrating as without some of those we might have had a chance to steal a win.
