If the #7 team in the nation needs bulletin board material to get up for a game, that's poor coaching or culture.

A team that good shouldn't need that material to be ready.

We were definitely out matched but they didn’t need anymore reason to play a little harder than usual! Oh well hopefully we’ll never have to play them again!

Go ahead and flame away. I liken his comments to the alternate uniforms, ie. Wearing black vs Iowa.

If we win, it’s cool. If we lose, we look really foolish and JV

For example, KU has a good team this year and wore cartoonish alternates vs KSU. KSU wore there standards and of course beat them

I’m not against our alternates but a buddy of mine pointed out how classic our CCG look is that we used to wear during the Rhoads years. they look a lot like USC and that is just fine.

We needed to catch a great team like Texas on an off-night in order to pull off an upset, and Hufford's remarks absolutely motivated them to not have an off-night.
And Hufford got absolutely dominated. This was really stupid, and frankly a little embarrassing IMO.

Say stupid things, win stupid prizes. I can understand pick me up comments for the team, but ya kinda gave them extra fuel that they didn't need. Go out and do your job. Instead, ya gave a distraction, got blown up in the game and in return made out to look like a really dumb thing to say. I feel like when ISU does trash talk, it blows up in their faces. Texas took it personal, but I remember seeing people say they wouldn't use it and it wasn't a big deal. Well, score board says otherwise.

Hopefully the basketball team can beat them down in Austin as some payback.

It'd be one thing if Tampa (who's really good) or Higgins (who was better than their DBs) trash talked, but the position that we had most outmatched decided to run his mouth.

I would find it stupid regardless of how good the player is, but yes, it's even worse when it's our worst position.

Since when does anyone in Texas give two craps about what Iowa State thinks?

Sark said it motivated his team. I think it was just a good sound bite for Sark to show his fanbase how his culture had changed. It's all window dressing.
