Best post of the night!

We are all VERY passionate about ISU…. and all want to win every game.

Even with the great comeback win though…. if you don’t think this team has a LOT to improve on, you’re kidding yourself.

We showed great toughness and competitiveness, but defense was sloppy and we can’t make a shot, or even get open for a shot for that matter. Only offense came from Lipsey and Gilbert driving the lane and running into people. Luckily that worked tonight, but can’t hang your hat on that.

Is Watson hurt or what?
And I trust TJ to fix those things. And he won’t be coming to CF for advice on how to do it.

Fun game. Felt great to see this team pull out a win despite struggling mightily on offense.

The hating on Gilbert was ridiculous in this thread he, Lipsey and Jones carried the team the whole game
I always find the “ball hog” insult in college basketball hilarious, particularly when it’s clear the other team can’t stop said ball hog from getting to the rim at will.

Gilbert was great getting to the rim, and the three guards - Gilbert, Lipsey and C. Jones started hitting the defensive glass and stopped the second chance opportunities.

Not a good game, but sometimes these ugly slug it out wins can be really helpful.

Huh? The first 35 minutes were REALLY bad.

Proud of the guys for fighting hard through the struggles. We’ve got some guards that refuse to lose, which is great.

Any of you fans that were frustrated for 35 minutes, you were absolutely justified in being frustrated, and I have no doubt you’re elated and relieved and proud of the win. Ignore the “holier than thou” crowd, because it’s silly. Passion is passion, and we all bleed Cardinal & Gold. Cyclones baby!
You see, if you looked at all the underlining stats you could see that Iowa State was dominating everything but their own shot. They were at 13% shooting until Lipsey made it 22% with his final two baskets, yet they were only down 9! Only a few can see how impressive that is within itself!

To think this team was going to keep shooting 13 to 22 percent is… well that wasn’t going to happen. So screaming your head off after a bad first 20 minutes was pathetic.

Second half they were playing nose to nose until they took it over. They didn’t play pathetic in the second half and outscored them 44-31. In fact, they held them to less points in the second half and scored 20 more points in the second half on them. Tell me where they played bad for 15 minutes in the second half? Crazy if it did when they almost doubled their first half points and held VCU to less.

Facts matter but good try trying to vomit up your excuse to sound like a jack in the game forum and screaming chicken little.

I wasn't sure if ISU would ever get over the 8- to 10-point deficit hump. A while later, it was the 5-to-7 hump. Then 3-4. Then ...

ISU could've rolled over a bunch of times ... but stuck with it.

Flawed performance, yep. But good to get tested.
It is incredibly hard to fight all the way back from a big deficit, lose momentum and have the other team go up a healthy amount, and then fight back through it again. Guys just kept coming until the final bell.
