Not that I am surprised that the sky is falling on here, did anyone honestly expect more than this? K-State is much better than us. The fact it is this close is amazing, frustrating, but amazing.
What you say is true, but we have completely squandered 2 big time plays due to self inflicted catastrophe after self inflicted catastrophe. I get it, we're the fools for thinking the team that always shoots itself in the foot won't shoot itself in the foot during a blizzard. Maybe we'll learn someday...

If we are being honest with ourselves, we are going to have to get used to not winning in the margins some games. Campbell has said it ad nauseam, but we have yet to actually be good in the margins. Until I actually see it, we will be the team to hurt ourselves in these close games. There is a reason Campbell is the Scott frost of the big 12 in one score games…..
Yeah but he has the talking part done.

We’re afraid to throw the ball in the snow…. yet KSU is throwing it all over the place.

If you aren’t going to let Rocco throw it…. then let JJ try. It’s not like the running game is working…. we had two good runs and that’s it.

Heacock’s defense has always struggled against running quarterbacks. Add the weather conditions and I think many of us knew it would be a difficult task to win.

This game is far from over, but they need a defensive stop right out of the half

I totally disagree. So many things can go wrong in these elements. You fair catch everything unless it’s a low line drive and you don’t have guys trying to set up blocks with no idea where the ball is. In this weather you have no idea where the punt may go. That was sheer stupidity and it’s on the coaches. KState never makes that mistake.
Maybe holler from the sideline.."heads up...short punt..get out of the way" stuff along those lines. He had zero idea where the ball was and nobody tried to alert him in the moment.

That punt was not a fluke. That’s a classic Peter that should have been called out and nobody should have been near it.

ISU is Iowa without the defense, Special Teams and discipline. not one throw over ten yards. Yet K state continued to fillet us, and we let the QB sit back there for an hour and half waiting for things to open up.

Lol Jesus, improvement with offensive coordinator, Oline coach, S&C coach. Hired a special teams coach. You are right no self correction
None of those moves prevented us from having 2 guys trying to block with no idea where the punt was. Those coaching changes aren’t margins. Setting your punt return team up to fail in that situation is losing in the margins. With a minute and a half left in the half worst case we should be up 1. But CMC ****** it up….again.

I'd say Matt's strength as a coach is identifying talent and player development, which you need at a school like ISU. His gameday coaching leaves a lot to be desired. That said give him credit for getting this young team to a bowl, and still a shot to win this one against a good team.

I don't think a coaching change is in the cards yet, but I don't think it's that crazy to want to talk about it. I really like Campbell and understand this is a "rebuilding year," but it's not like we really cashed in the last time we had a group of battle-tested seniors. We should fare better with Texas and Oklahoma heading East.

He didn't really know he was near it though.
I get your train of thought but he was blocking.

Seems like we need some sort of “Game Management” Assistant Coach hire

You have to hope the "luck" evens out in the second half and we get a break or two.
The “unlucky” plays aren’t unlucky at all. If sanders and Norton don’t stay home we are likely scoreless because Abu would have been sharing reps. We are getting beaten.
