Yep, the one thing OSU couldn't do is go 3 and out to start the game, then they give Texas awesome field position and a quick TD. They need to respond here or it could be a long game.

For those thinking Vegas, you got to take into account the time zones. I think the big 12 is rock solid at Noon ET. That's where the networks want us, and I don't think we want our CCG game overlapping with the SEC and B1G either.

What time are you kicking off in Vegas? 9AM? That's dumb. For the players even more so. The only realistic solution would be to kick off at 10PM ET, and you're still overlapping with the B1G for well over an hour.

You take the friday night slot starting 2024, assuming the network is for it, no matter the location.

Okay Vegas people, why not Tampa, Miami, the rose bowl, San Diego? Why specifically Vegas over those towns then?
Good question:

Miami and Tampa is a LONG trip for all teams not named UCF and a real outlier for 15/16 teams. Neither Miami nor Tampa would draw good crowds no matter who played in a given year, and Florida can be cool and rainy in December.

I went to an ACC CCG between GT and Wake @ Jax (2006) , and it was raining and half-full stadium at best. ONLY FSU could sellout an ACC game in Jax, so that is one reason they moved it to Charlotte. Big Xii would have the same struggles.

@ Rose Bowl and @ San Diego would be really good for the Western teams but not as good as @ Las Vegas for the Midwestern teams. Usually good weather in both places, so that is a plus. WVU, UC and UCF lose out on all three of these options, but @ Arlington is also tough for them.

Personally, I'd be down with @ Rose Bowl though! That would be awesome because Rose Bowl reasons. @ San Diego would be okay too, but I think @ Las Vegas would be easier to attend and have bigger crowds in any given year.
