If you go undefeated in a P5 you should be in. With the playoff expanding next year I wonder if the committee changes up their "criteria" to get Bama or Georgia in knowing they won't have to be logically consistent going forward with a totally different playoff

Conf champ spots take care of this starting next year.

The debate will be about who the 10th and 11th best major conf teams are and they’ll always have at least one loss guaranteed.

This year it’d be Oklahoma, Arizona, Ole Miss, Missouri and Penn State fighting for 2 spots at 10 and 11. A very trivial argument where the left out team obviously has flaws and made mistakes. The problem only arises if acc and big 12 teams aren’t even considered for those spots.

We possibly could have knocked KSU off the bubble of that arguement.

As a college football fan, leaving the SEC out would be bad. It’s the best conference. I would say my favorites in order to win right now would be

1. Bama
2. Texas
3. Washington
4 Michigan.

Florida State would have had no shot to win it with an injured quarterback
Well we won’t find out will we? Because every “expert” (and I include myself in that joke of a term) opinion is never wrong. Hahaha never.

Can you be a fraud though if nobody thinks you are good to begin with? I think everyone in the country has caught onto the Big 10 west scam by now and they've surely heard jokes about Brian Ferenrz and their offense.
Fair point. Although their ranking suggests some people think they’re good.

Their defense and special teams are fantastic, but - overall - I don’t see how anyone thinks they’re one of the best 20 teams in college football.

they should make the committee announce these in front of reporters and representatives of the teams. that might take some of the bias out
And reporters not from ESPN, but actual outlets like NYT and the like that would ask non-softball questions.

Time to head to Boo whatever-his-name-is house and bring the tar and feathers.

-FSU beats two SEC teams in the non-con
-FSU wins every game on their schedule
-FSU wins the ACC championship

-Bama loses a home game to Texas
-Bama needs a miracle 4th and 31 conversion to escape an Auburn team that had just lost to New Mexico State

Committee: In our esteemed opinion which cannot be criticized, we deem Alabama one of the hallowed “four best” teams and FSU is … well, not.

I guess FSU just needed to do a little more … like jump to the SEC. Also, we must be ignoring actual results of games now (Bama loses at home, FSU doesn’t, not to mention those two SEC wins, one of them on the road). There’s simply no reason for national title contenders to schedule top-quality competition during the regular season, because it just doesn’t matter.
