I love our team and believe the future is very bright, but I'm not optimistic about tonight. They are bigger, stronger and more disciplined than us, and have played a tougher schedule. They're also not scared of Hilton in the slightest. I expect Iowa to win by 5-10.

Taller? Maybe. But Iowa is not bigger or stronger than ISU. Lipsey is stronger than any of Iowa's bigs.

I'm surprised how pessimistic some of you are. I think your defense will swarm Iowa and lead to some very poor shooting. Defensively, Iowa is a trainwreck. I have you guys winning by double digits.
Iowa does not turn the ball over much, which is something we rely upon a lot. If they are patient they will get open looks from 3 on ISUs defense. The question will be can they hit them. If they hit like 50% from 3 then it's going to be tough for ISU to beat them.

If they are hitting that high of a percentage, then the ISU defense has some problems to address.

Those nights happen though, and advanced stat experts would tell you it mostly has to do with luck and not so much with defense. Our D focuses on limiting shots in the paint, so a disproportionate amount of scoring by our opponents comes from 3.

If any team hits 50% from three it is going to be tough to beat them unless their number of attempts is really low.
That's true. In a lot if cases if teams can hit their 3 point shots they usually do well. My point is ISU is even more susceptible to that because of the way they play defense. Admittedly we will probably be in trouble even if it's less than that. Probably more like north of 40% and we'll be in trouble. Point being they are going to have to have a good shooting night from 3 to win.

Our defense plays the odds. Turning a team into a bunch of jump shooters will get you the win more often than not.

Which we do. DePaul hit a bunch of 3s because they got a lot of good looks. I don't have to use my imagination much to see Iowa having a good night, regardless of their previous performances.

And after aTm this year and especially Tech last year, I can't feel good even if we somehow get a decent lead.
