I did not see game but I agree with this. I don't understand how if his high school rating was legit that he's had no impact so far and can't even get into the game up a bunch and Ward out. I thought his strength was defense and athleticism. Those should translate at his size. It's not like there are all all big12 conf players blocking him.
Yeah I'm not super sad about it but this was the last real opponent of the season before Big 12 play (although some of these teams coming up might be better than Iowa lol) so it would have been nice to see Omaha play. And I just wonder how he feels about it, hopefully they're all on the same page about gradually getting him more playing time. But otherwise not much to complain about!

Definitely Tre King and Rob Jones dominating inside, especially the first 10+ minutes. Set the tone for the rest of the game. Iowa got basically nothing in the paint the whole game and we scored at will down there.

Watched much of this at a bar and they didn't have the sound on for this game.
Did I catch it correctly on some highlight videos that the crowd was chanting, You Need Caitlyn?

If so, that's pretty damn funny and I'm here for it.

Yes, the student section did a few "You need Cait-lyn" chants to the same cadence as "F* Mc-Caffe-ry."

The Gilbert spinning behind-the-back pass to Tre (I think it was Tre...?) for a dunk. At this point we were just completely clowning them and I loved it.

Someone said that the coaches put him through a two hour workout earlier in the day, so there's no doubt in my mind that they are giving him their full attention in getting him ready to go. I'd have to think that kind of individual coaching would make it clear to the player that the staff values him and wants to help him get ready.

Also, Omaha seems like a total team player with a very low ego. I'm hopeful that he gets extra time in these next four games to get him in a groove before Big 12 play.

I think my favorite part came from the post game show. Keshon said before this the best crowd he played in front of was a road game in the Mountain West conference. It sounded like the crowd tonight really meant a lot to him.

The game was amazing.

But in the press conference seeing Gilbert react after Rob told him the crowd gets louder than it was tonight was the best moment of the night.

Edited to add that the bad part about the new way you have to build a team is that with a lot of the transfers you only get them for a year or two. As a fan, you fall in love and then lose them. But the good part of that is it is fun to see them experience Hilton. And because they have seen other places, they always are so appreciative.
Is there video of this chunk of the post game somewhere? I'd love to see it.

Also, it feels like him specifically referencing a MW road game was a thinly veiled shot at the UNLV fan base and I am here for it.

It was glorious. The best moment was when Gilbert scored in the paint, Lipsey stole the inbounds pass, and Gilbert immediately hit a three. Timeout. Juicy Wiggle. The place just went nuts.
THAT'S when they chose to play Juicy Wiggle?!? They must have a lot of faith in the integrity of Hilton's 50+ year old concrete.

This reminded me of the game 2 years ago in Ames, where you could almost see glimpses of Mad Fran, but the game got too far out of hand for him to fully react. You could tell he had kind of given up even before halftime I felt. I think he sat down the entire 2nd half. He had just kind of conceded defeat.

The end result was the same.......but 2 years ago it took some effort. Last night it seemed they were playing Lindenwood. They could have picked and rolled the entire game and won. Too easy, and Fran knew it.
