Everyone seems to be talking about the logistics and legalities. However, I can't help but think that the NFL is going to make some changes if NIL is going to curtail some big-time athletes from entering the draft. Also, the 'consequences' of transferring will become a metric that will be watched. Imagine spending big time $$$ for someone who rides the bench. There most definitely will be tampering with the coaches by boosters (yes. I know they're technically not that. But they are still wolves in sheep's clothing.) In my mind there no doubt will be a governance of this somewhere. To me the thread about the mega conference (ie ACC/B12/P12) may come to fruition. Especially, if there is a governance body defining some 'parity' guidelines.
But, we'll just have to wait and see.

Definitely lucky Rocco comes from a situation where he doesn’t need to chase a large paycheck.

Admittedly don't know enough about it, but would it be possible for an NFL team to write an NIL deal with a prospect, convince him (monetarily) to not enter the draft, and then sign as free agent? Wouldn't that be fun to follow

I highly doubt it. The owners set the rules of the league for a reason. They aren't going to want teams trying to circumvent them.

I'd smack the kid upside the head.

In the working world we're guns for hire.

NIL has brought that to light in college ball. There is no loyalty. There is no "family"

Just straight cash.

Sure there's loyalty from some aspect but it's also been quite simply transactional forever and humans are only as loyal as their options.

Whether it was being paid under the table or scholarships, it was a financial advantage for the athlete.

On the other hand, there are still a few that have a need for a strong connection and that's where ISU will need to excel in all of this. Imo Otz and CMC seem to be strong in that area.
