Rebranding Kum and Go absolutely leaves the door wide open for Kwik Star to grab even more market share in DSM, especially WDM.

Honestly I don't know that I even buy this logic

Another source echoed that sentiment, noting, “If you’re growing cross-regionally, which brand do you think will have more appeal to a new audience: Maverik or Kum & Go? No disrespect to Kum & Go, but the answer is pretty clear.

Kum & Go is pretty well known even outside its footprint because of its meme-level status. Seems like maybe they're in their bubble in Utah a bit.

Get "Pump -n- Munch" on the expansion bandwagon to get them outside of Minneapolis.
Or the much preferred "Munch -n- Pump" to make it beyond a few shops in Missouri.
Are there still Pump-n-Munches in Minneapolis? There used to be a few in Rochester 20ish years ago but I haven't seen one in decades. I still have the jingle seared into my brain.

Iowan's are stupid loyal. If they have a choice now between Casey's, Kwik Star, or Maverick they will choose to not go to Maverick 9 times out of 10.

I'm in KC area now so I don't have first-hand knowledge...according to the google machine, yes, there are still ~5 in operation.

Johnston
At least a couple new Kwik Stars in process. One on Hickman in Waukee east of Stivers and then one on *Merle Hay* in Johnston near ChildServe.

Perfect storm for Kwik Star, pending sale probably pushed their move to Ames/DM.

I've heard that Casey's breaking the handshake agreement with Kwik Star (each to stay out of the others home State) is what pushed Kwik Star into Iowa moving NE to SW. Do you ever notice how just about every Kwik Star is within a block of a Casey's. Seems intentional...

I mean, some of that is zoning, and if there is already a gas station there, there is a good volume of car traffic already.

I stopped at a Maverick in Colorado on my way back from Estes last summer. Their chorizo breakfast burrito is bomb and that place was cleaner than any gas station I've ever been in.
