Pretty sure By State law if a store sells it they have to take the cans back. If they dont sell it they dont.@brentblum Hy-vee won't take my empty Ames Lager cans back. Can we donate them to WeWill?
had same issue. machine wouldnt take but they accepted at the customer service counter@brentblum Hy-vee won't take my empty Ames Lager cans back. Can we donate them to WeWill?
I stopped using the machines a long time ago because they don’t recognize a lot of the craft cans and bottles. I just bag them and donate locally.had same issue. machine wouldnt take but they accepted at the customer service counter
I give my cans to my BIL and then he donates them. Bottles I just toss in the recycle bin and be done with them. The amount I have is just not worth the time to take them back anywhere.I stopped using the machines a long time ago because they don’t recognize a lot of the craft cans and bottles. I wish Iowa would get rid of the law. Just stop charging people the deposit that only raises the price of the product.I stopped using the machines a long time ago because they don’t recognize a lot of the craft cans and bottles. I just bag them and donate locally.
It’s through West O, not really up to Mucky Duck if I’m understanding how it worksDoes anyone know if the Mucky Duck is passing on part of the proceeds to we will?
I ordered an Ames Lager in a can there a couple of weeks ago it was $4.50, grabbed a pint there last night $8. I thought that was a little steep.
That's why I was asking, I just was guessing the bar was paying keg price. Then applying their own margins, most of their other beers seemed to be around the $6 range. It’s through West O, not really up to Mucky Duck if I’m understanding how it works

It struck me as being sort of price gouging folks wanting to support ISU. If We Will is getting a buck a draw I'm a lot better with that price.
@brentblum can you shed some light on our discussion? It started on post 1153.I wonder if the price of the kegs are a premium.
They buy from West O and that goes to WW I’m guessing. Doubt a bar will have to pass on their own proceeds, as WW has already taken their cut. Just my guess, can’t say for sureDoes anyone know if the Mucky Duck is passing on part of the proceeds to we will?

There is not a premium price for Ames Lager. It is sold to the distributor at cost and they apply their margin and then again at the retail level.I wonder if the price of the kegs are a premium.
