Ugh I want some more I've been out for awhile. Put in a merch order since I currently won't be in Iowa for a bit

I stopped using the machines a long time ago because they don’t recognize a lot of the craft cans and bottles. I just bag them and donate locally.
I give my cans to my BIL and then he donates them. Bottles I just toss in the recycle bin and be done with them. The amount I have is just not worth the time to take them back anywhere.

I wish Iowa would get rid of the law. Just stop charging people the deposit that only raises the price of the product.

The majority of people I know never return them, they go in recycling or are donated somewhere. So in turn you are just charging people more money for products that they never get back.

When it was put in place it was to promote recycling especially in a time that many areas did not have a recycling program set up. Now that most everywhere does it is a dinosaur.

The program is full of problems too. Places refusing to take returns, against the law. Places charging extra fees for returns, against the law. People charging counting fees, against the law. Places giving less than 5 cents per can in return, against the law. Fewer and fewer redemption centers. They just updated the law and it should have been scrapped all together.

Get rid of it, stop charging for it, and let people crush their cans and recycle. Lot less hassle, cost, waste of space etc.

Please, let’s not ruin the Ames Lager thread with another conversation about the can/bottle fee. It’s a legit topic but there are plenty of other places for it.

Anyone order gear know how long it takes to get shipped? I put in an order a few days ago and got a confirmation email that my order was received but haven't gotten any other communication yet so I was just curious

Does anyone know if the Mucky Duck is passing on part of the proceeds to we will?
I ordered a Ames Lager in a can there a couple of weeks ago it was $4.50, grabbed a pint there last night $8. I thought that was a little steep:oops: .

It’s through West O, not really up to Mucky Duck if I’m understanding how it works

That's why I was asking, I just was guessing the bar was paying keg price. Then applying their own margins, most of their other beers seemed to be around the $6 range.
It struck me as being sort of price gouging folks wanting to support ISU. If We Will is getting a buck a draw I'm a lot better with that price.

I wonder if the price of the kegs are a premium.

They buy from West O and that goes to WW I’m guessing. Doubt a bar will have to pass on their own proceeds, as WW has already taken their cut. Just my guess, can’t say for sure
