On the road...
@brentblum can you shed some light on our discussion? It started on post 1153.
Proceeds come directly from the initial sale of the cans/kegs to the distributor. It does not come from the bar/restaurant/store. Pricing is up to the individual merchant. $8 is a hell of a lot for a lager though and they should be ashamed for that.

Yeah I got caught not paying attention. I'm sticking with picking up sixers for personal consumption or seeing which other establishments in Ames have it on tap

For those that have enjoyed Ames Lager from the tap: can you taste a difference? Maybe it’s psychological, but I tend to prefer beers from the tap if I can get it.
Agree. Tap is almost always better. I love the Sam Adams glasses at home (although they're structurally weak and break easily) they have a laser etched ring in them that helps the beer poured in it "breathe." It makes a noticeable difference to me when I pour a can of Ames Lager into it. Thanks MIT.

I haven't had it on tap yet, but I assume it's even better.

It was good, and I was trying to boost the visibility by ordering it, but damn the price caught me off guard. Maybe it was a little crisper? Good clean easy to drink flavor though.

No beer is meant to be drank straight from the container. It should be poured into a glass to release the aroma of the product. 80% of taste is smell, and smelling aluminum or glass will throw off the palate.
Not to mention the other dirt and nastiness that might end up on the can/bottle on its shipping journey.

Also, most people think a perfect pour into a glass has no head but it’s better to release that carbonation before putting it in your stomach. You’ll get less of that bloated feeling if you do.

I can't drink out of cans anymore, even my Busch Light goes into a glass.

Seeing WestO advertising "cases" of Ames Lager made me curious... Will Ames Lager ever be available for purchase in larger quantities than just 6 packs in stores like HyVee? @brentblum
Great question! Let me check on this. We are going up to West O next week for Winter Games in Okoboji. They picked We Will as their charity they are going to support for the Games so will have a chance to dive in on a few of these questions. Thanks!
