But, but, but, he is not surrounded by incredible talents like PurdyElite quarterback Josh Allen fails to mount a fourth quarter comeback drive.

Who is this clown? WHO sports caster?
No rain and Deebo playing and he will play better.Highly doubt Brock has back to back "not Brock quality" games. As much as David deserves to be in the SB, I'd bank on Brock to be there.
So the NFL expert people are talking about with "7 good QBs, and Brock Purdy" is Amy Trask, former CEO for the Raiders. Do I believe her opinion was either a) Bad or b) Badly worded? Yes. She did tweet this.
She’s a former Raiders exec from 97-13. She would have no idea what good QB play looked like anyway. She was on a staff that willingly drafted Jamarcus Russell!Sure Amy. Now issue your statement that you are well known as the worst evaluator of talent. And state that you are the brilliant mind that chose the Biggest Bust in NFL Draft History. There are competent football executives and then there is Amy. And she totally sucks. Not good.
Wait, wait, wait a minute … Trask was Raiders CEO when they drafted JaMarcus Russell with the number one pick? And she’s saying Purdy isn’t a playoff caliber QB?Sure Amy. Never played a snap past flag football if that..Who listens anyway? I tend not to listen to people talking about something they've never actually done. She’s a former Raiders exec from 97-13. She would have no idea what food QB play looked like anyway. She was on a staff that willingly drafted Jamarcus Russell!
I think most QBs struggle throwing in the rain/throwing a wet ball. Purdy’s stats were better than Love’s. The Browns QB (granted he was a backup) were worse than Purdy’s.How did he play for you guys in the rain and wet games? I love Brock. But his 1 Kryptonite seems to be rainy wet games. The Cleveland game this year where we lost. Then this game we barely won. But there were some inaccurate passes out there. I don't know if he grips the ball really well in the rain. A wet ball. Glove on, glove off, wiping his hand right in the middle of a play. Just all kinds of stuff.
While there was some inaccuracy we did win the game. Despite early troubles his last game winning come from behind drive was the best. So he was able to put it out of his mind and get it done when it counted the most. I believe he was 6/7 on the last drive and the 1 big scramble which set up the CMC run up the middle for the game winning TD.
Keep in mind Jordan Love threw 2 picks and was not handling the ball well either most of the rainy game. So it's not all on Brock. He actually finished with a decent but not great stat line. Zero interceptions which is probably deceiving because some of them definitely could have been. But they were dropped. Almost interceptions don't count. Love had almost interceptions too in addition to the 2 actual ones he threw.
How did he play in the rain and wet games for you? Did he struggle more? I see an accurate thrower in dry, sunny games. But wet games worry me a little with Brock sometimes.
Brock Purdy is in the Conference Championship Game. For the second time. In his first two years. First NFL QB in history to do it in his first two seasons.
Amy Trask’s Raiders had 3 winning seasons during her time as an executive making player decisions for her team from 1997-2013. She had 3 winning seasons. Pathetic.
Great points. I recall there was a timing play where Kittle was knocked off his route by the LB. On a clean break it would’ve been on the money and a first down.So I had to explain to my wife why some of Purdy's throws were so bad due to the rain. I think his hand size and grip strength are fine as the ball coming out looked good, but:
A: Gripping a ball tighter than normal without changing any other mechanics of the throw will slightly change the release usually by starting off causing the passes to be low then overcorrecting and ending up floating some trying to find that sweet spot.
B: With the anticipation that Purdy plays with (throwing the ball as the receiver is coming out of the break) timing is off as the receiver's traction isn't the same as normal so unless you normally rifle the ball in and don't depend on anticipation you will lead your receivers too much.
Hopefully he doesn't have to deal with rainy weather again this season, and over the off season works on gripping tighter at all times so it won't affect him as much, but the timing with anticipation will probably continue to be an issue in rainy weather.
I think he did a solid job and I was impressed that they came away with a W when even I was doubting going into the 4th.
