What if a Big 12 team finishes 5-13 or 6-12 and an overall record of something like 17-15. If the five or six league wins are all Q1 don’t you think they’d probably get in? Would depend how close the losses were of course but it wouldn’t shock me this year.

All I know is that Big 12 basketball is what SEC football pretends to be.

It’s crazy someone has a job as a college basketball writer yet thinks big ten > big 12. I mean the big ten may genuinely be closer to the MAC than the big 12 over the past decade.

Not sure why.

If you look around college basketball as a whole there is a dearth of teams with quality road or neutral court wins. About the only schools who have an unquestionable combination of schedule and performance in those games are KU and Purdue. Outside of that there are teams that have a few home or neutral site victories while winning most game at home, or teams like Auburn who haven't beat anyone and have played at lot of easy road games.

At this point there is nothing out there to discredit the Big 12 more than any other league. Basically if one objectively hates on this conference they should be hating on others too, otherwise their argument is basically invalidated as bias.

Personally I think this is the best Kentucky team Cal has had since Davis. But who have they really beaten? The great thing about the Big 12 is its a must grinder that sorts itself out.

Is their name KU lol? Would have to have a stellar out of conference resume.

Seems like Jerry Palm is going to stick to his guns and underseed us by multiple seed lines again this year. You have to respect his commitment to the bit at this point.

Palm is rated even lower than Lunardi btw. #142 out of a possible 174 bracketologist in the matrix.

If somebody like him underseeded our Hoiball teams consistently and also underseeds our "always top ten defense" three years in a row teams...it does seem like there must be an axe to grind.

If you really devalue one of those you kind of have to appreciate the other.

Why link his garbage content? Just tell us where he put us so I don't have to give him a click.

Palm is a huge Big Ten shill. The fact that he couldn't shoehorn any more of their teams in there, or rank them higher, is an indictment of the quality of the Big Ten this year.

lmao Iowa State is closer to a 4 seed than they are an 8. Palm is really really good at sh!tting on the best basketball conference in the country. It's weird at this point.

MVC could be a two bid league this year. Thats what happens when the Big 10 sucks.
The problem for Drake and Indiana St is that any given loss could drop you like a rock in the NET. The MVC will be a one bid league. The NET formula has really hurt mid major at large bids.

If Drake and Indiana State win out, besides ISU winning the rematch, then play each other in the MVC title game, I don't see how either gets left out.

If same scenario, but UNI (or maybe Belmont or Bradley) knocks one of the 2 out before the championship game and the other in the championship game, that team is auto in and title game loser also gets in.

There aren't enough good power conference teams to fill all the at-large berths.
