Also KU is coming to town and it’s a long season. Saturday was an example of the Patrick Ewing theory coming to fruition. For the youngsters look that up
Yes, but that's only good for about one game. It's hard to be super focused and give 110% twice in a row.

Here's hoping! Or that KSt just has a bad night.

Act like he is not playing, then hit the Stone Cold glass breaking music, Tamin runs out, drops a triple double. There ya go. That is how I see this playing out.

Kirk Ferentz special. There was a like a decade straight where their entire offensive line was hurt vs ISU yet didn't miss a snap.

Better than the Patrick Ewing Theory is one of the best quotes in history, by him.

"People complain that pro athletes make a lot of money; but what they don't understand is that we need a lot of money because we spend a lot of money.

Does this work in reverse? My wife seems to think so.

I think what we learned at TCU was Paveletzke getting exposed. Explaining him only getting 10 minutes and Watson playing 25. Guessing when Lipsey returns JP's minutes will all but disappear.

No I was talking in the context of our best player goes down and the guys rally around themselves to achieve something unexpected. Another example was beating North Carolina without Georges.

Even with Lipsey beating TCU down there was a bit of a long shot. But without guys dug deep and got it done

But we already did that against TCU. So now every game loses some of the effect. The key is that KSU has to prepare as if Tamin is going to play and be 100%, that’s where the advantage lies.

I want this for Saturday. Hopefully after grinding out a win Wednesday.

Add’l hot take: Omaha will be getting more minutes than Paveletske by Valentines Day.

I've made such claims in other threads: Omaha will start getting in. Mid-late February would be about the perfect time of the season.

I also still like Pav to come in some time in the right situation and make some plays.

Agree, unfortunately the transfer portal seems to work itself out every year. We have 2 guards coming in next year along with Hamilton redshirting. Going to need bigs next year and scholarships for them.

Given the importance of the QB to an NFL team, this one sticks out the most for me:

9. St. Louis Rams, 1999: Starting QB Trent Green tears an ACL during the preseason. Given up for dead, the Rams rally behind former Arena League football star Kurt Warner and win the Super Bowl, which might be the most unbelievable thing that ever happened..
I'll pat myself on the back and say that I predicted that they would do better than most. We had our fantasy football draft and I picked RAMS QBs with my last pick. I knew I could get him cheap because nobody was going to pick him when other known QBs were available.

Everyone thought I was ill informed ("You know Trent Green is done for the season, don't you?") or an idiot. I had seen Warner play for the Barnstormers and knew he could play. Did I see them winning the SB? No, but I knew he was a good fit to sling it in that offense.

Yes I rode him to a league championship.

TL;DR: Cool Story, Bro.

I would guess they decide to not play him tomorrow and then he comes back for KU on Saturday
Hope so. It all depends on how bad his shoulder is. Hopefully the doctors will clear him soon, hopefully meaning that there will be a minimal chance that he hurts it again.

Agree. And you have to wonder, could Trent Green have performed as well that year, if healthy?

Green was good, and the Rams were primed, but what Kurt Warner was able to accomplish was remarkable.

I don't think they'll disappear, but Jackson needs to be more selective when he attacks to hoop. Sometimes he gets eaten up.

He can still be a weapon from the outside though, and the occasional drive dish. How has his defense been? That's probably another point.

Next year he will be bigger and stronger, hopefully.

The KSU game has big implications for conference standings as well. I know hindsight is 20/20 but it’s a bit frustrating that Tamin was hurt basically playing mop up minutes in a blow out

In conference play, they've been really really physical with both Pav and Milan, and not much has been called. Milan has started to adjust, and Pav will too, it'll probably just take longer with fewer minutes. Definitely agree that another year in the strength program will be huge for both of them.

How do you know it wasn't from something prior?
