I don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but Jess Settles said during today’s game that Iowa State can play its way to a 1 seed. Which is true. How awesome would that be. Would likely mean we won the regular season title and possibly the conference tourney as well.

If we do that watch how fast the narrative changes to "The Big 12 is down this year" and we get stuck with a 2 seed.

Analytics would suggest they’re more 4 line right now. They’ve got some solid wins in conference and in non-conference and 2 more big opportunities with UConn at home and @ Creighton. Think they’d have to win one of those two to get back up to 2 line (or even three)

The margin-of-defeat is notable, but losing to the #2 S-curve team on the road, in mid-February, probably not dropping too much.

Marquette will drop below KU for sure in the pecking order ... then there's Alabama ... crushed A&M and still leads SEC standings, so might climb ... BU (won at WVU ... meh?), and ISU (home win over Tech).

Not sure how many of those are going to leap-frog.

That's looking at it in the short-term. MU might not be able to sustain 2/3 level. Hard to say.

Hurts their metrics but meh. Is your opinion of us going to change if we lose by 20 tomorrow night? It really shouldn't.

I hope Marquette falters down the stretch but their resume is impressive. They have some monster out of conference wins. At Illinois, Kansas in Maui, Texas.

Anyone have insight or odds that we get drawn to play in omaha? Seems like if you get a top 3 seed they try to cater to you but curious if this has been discussed or not. KU and ISU in omaha?

2 or 3 seed doesn’t matter much to me. Just don’t put us in UConn’s bracket.

Or Nebraska or Iowa (miracles happen).

ISU 'should' beat them both but a loss would be really stupid.

B1G is the biggest dud of a conference this year. One with a Garza type player that will get awards, but like Garza doesn’t have speed to run the floor or get far in the tournament. A team with a player with a sexual assault case in process and a team that has lost 5 of 6 and still a 4 seed. Everyone else is just trying to stay at or get at .500 in conference play. Woof!!

Give me Purdue region all day long since we won’t have to play them…they’re probably going to get upset again given they just lost to OSU. They were down double digits at one point too.
Been preaching this for the last several weeks. Our swarming defense wont ever allow Edey to get comfortable.

Grab the #2 seed in Purdue's region I will really loke oir chances to get to a Final 4.

100%. Purdue won’t sniff the final 4 and if they do our defense is designed to shut them down.
