My doc wanted to do some precautionary tests on my ticker, so I am hooked up to a heart monitor as of this afternoon.

I'm not sure the timing of this is a good thing. I might go off the charts tonight.

I can imagine the conversation with the doctor..."So, why did you have this spike for 2.5 hours on Monday night?"
Just checking in...I'm still ticking.

The influx of non partisan fans really helps

For sure. Its a good reality check of "is this **** ******** or am I just wrapped up in the game" if the neutrals are or are not feeling the same thing.

Love how they present that as Lunardi’s top 16. The dude is just regurgitating the bracket reveal from the weekend. It would be idiotic to not have it be that until this week’s games are done.

We are still in it boys!!! Really that’s all you could ask for after the way that first half started. Hope the officiating balances itself out, but we will see.

Don't care all that much about the outcome at this point. Getting punched in the mouth by one of the top 5 teams, on the road, with all the whistles going against them, and they continue their relentless effort and have fought their way back into the game. This team has shown they're going to be a contender in March.

Agree completely. Playing this physical is going to really hurt you in the tourney. They aren’t going to let you play that way.

It’s just all down to how the refs feel on any given day. They are all so bad at their jobs and they’ve gotten a pass for far too long as some kind of like unassailable Supreme Court Justice.

Sampson is a ridiculous person. Imagine unironically making that complaint after that half. What a douche.

Huggins always was the same. Play 'cant call em all' defense, and then still complain about the calls so the refs might subconsciously think they're treating both sides fair if they're both unhappy. All part of the psychological battle with the refs. And it usually worked for Huggins. We had a bunch of games we somehow had more fouls despite them being all over us

I didn't have a problem with Sampson at half. I dont think he was blaming the stripes, he was just saying the player on the bench is really important to them and him not being out there hurt.
It was a weird thing to say. He has a National Championship contender but his offense doesn’t work because ONE guy is on the bench?

If you go look at the game flow of the first meeting in Ames this is going about exactly opposite.

They started really slow and slowing crawled back in it. Then it was anybodys game in the last few mins.

But they were down 10 at half, although had it closer just before. After half it just tightened.

So lets hope the flow continues to match and our few extra points at half lead us to a close win in the end.

One of the reasons why I’m not taking ISU or Houston to get to the Final Four. Can’t trust the refs. Any given crew that hasn’t really seen us or Houston before calling a game straight up would be a huge hurdle to overcome.

Had it been like football with league specific officials I would definitely be concerned. But hoops officials officiate so many leagues these days, I suspect many have crossed paths with ISU and Houston
