Creighton fans don't get first crack at the entire pile of public tickets.
I have several friends who are Creighton season ticket holders. In the past when Creighton has hosted a NCAA regional, my friends received a ticket request based on the number of season tickets they held.

It’s possible that the NCAA only allots a certain number of tickets to the host team. However, the point is that host teams are allotted more tickets than the teams that actually play in the regional. Hence, Creighton fans will hold a lot of tickets, although they may decide to unload some of the sessions.

How would rooting for Houston increase our odds of placing first?
I'm certainly not as knowledgeable as many on here about these things as others but don't follow this either. Because of so-called parity I would think the committee, regardless of metrics, will feel the need to assign only one number one to the Big 12 and that will be Houston with an outside chance for us if we tie or better them for the conference and beat them in the Big 12 tourney.

Although I think Houston is the only B12 team that gets a 1 seed this season, it'll have nothing to do with a built-in conference limit. That isn't a consideration.

Since expansion to 64, about once every three seasons, the tournament has had two 1 seeds from same league. (Only twice has there been 3 - 2009 and 2019)

(This link is from 2021, it's a good basic guide)

Warned you that I wasn't as knowledgeable as some LOL, although I'd think if we drop one game between now and NCAA's we'll be a two at best, and I don't think anyone in the 12 has enough to get to the one other than us

I swear - some of you all would be terrified to play NJIT or Detroit Mercy.

You're fans of one of the best teams in the nation - a team that has a top 5(?) defense. Act like it.

Darn right. This team could win it all, and that's without weird scenarios, ifs, and whatever.
Sure, it's no guarantee, but this team can beat anyone. No need for nut cups, paranoia, or weak sauce. Just expect that we'll most likely win out the regular season and have great chances for runs in the two tournaments.

I don’t want to be an alarmist, but there is a lot of chatter in Nebraska about putting the Huskers in Omaha, as an 7 or 10 seed. Should this happen, it’s conceivable that ISU could face Nebraska in the second round.

Personally, I think it would be completely unfair to ISU and a travesty if the committee did so. However, this has occurred in the past. Specifically, Duke as a “2” seed faced South Carolina as a “7” seed in the round of 32 in Greenville, SC in 2017. SC won the game by 20 points and went to the final four that year.

Let’s hope this doesn’t happen.

Who cares, nobody knows anything right now so why even speculate. All this "chatter" is making 2 very big assumptions right now. First is Nebraska making the tourney, and 2nd is them actually winning their 1st round game. Those are 2 major obstacles to get through before anyone should even begin to worry.

It's the same kind of chatter you start hearing from ISU fans every time Des Moines is one of the sites. Hell - we've been chattering about playing in Omaha for the last several weeks when it became clear we were going to be one of the top seeds.

In other words, I don't give a rat's ass about what chatter Nebraska fanboys are telling themselves about their chances of playing in Omaha.

Chatter by who exactly? Fans? Media? They don't know anything and are just hoping.

I’m confused why playing Nebraska would be such a bad thing?
Other than the tradition of Iowa State always seemingly having to play a post season road game….it isn’t. This defense would suffocate them.

After all the discussion about Iowa State vs. Kansas for the number 2 seed, I started wishing I could see the NET comparison between the teams more graphically. And since I couldn't find a site online that did it, I wrote up a Python script to pull the data and put it together into a spiffy chart:

Very nice chart. It helps demonstrate why it's been so annoying hearing Kansas fans complain about their schedule in the past couple of weeks. I understand why they're annoyed about having to play at Houston, ISU, Baylor, and Tech all this season. But they were complaining about those games as if they were the reason that Kansas is down in the conference standings (before two of them had even happened). However, this chart beautifully shows that the reason they're further down in the conference standings than they'd like is because they've lost very winnable road games, despite actually having a significantly easier road schedule than Iowa State did heading into today.
