DeVries is going to get an ACC job this year, isn't he. Maybe Stanford. Washington probably going to be open and now a Big Ten job.

If he’s content with what he’s making salary wise right now he should hold off for the Iowa gig whenever that opens. Iowa will backup the cash truck for him I’d assume.

But I guess he could take a pay raise elsewhere and still leave for Iowa if Iowa is a job he really wants.

That could be 5 years down the road at this rate though. With no guarantee things maintain at drake.

Maybe. I think you gotta move up when the opportunity comes, no guarantee holding out for a particular job works out in your favor due to circumstances. It's possible the parties could be in agreement well ahead of time, however.

I do see Tucker Devries is listed as a junior. I could easily see his dad staying for one more year.

Besides Brodie every other major contributor is back also theoretically. I'm not 100 percent sure wright has covid year left though.

Whoever is on the broadcast made a strong argument for teams like Drake and Indiana State. Basically that these power 5 schools who’ve had countless opportunities to pick up Q1 wins and failed to do so should be left out. These good mid majors can’t get anyone to play them yet have taken advantage and picked up wins when given the rare opportunity.

Personally I agree Drake and ISU should both be in if Drake wins.

It is an unfair standard that for conferences like the Valley, the expectation is that you must be perfect (outside of a tournament AQ) in order to qualify. The idea that Iowa could seriously be more "deserving" of a tournament slot over either of these teams just doesn't pass the eye test.
