If he does kick his leg out then it's a different story but he didn't. Keep in mind announcers are mostly moronic when it comes to rules and officials calls. NCAA football has actually started a program the last few years where they send videos out to media people educating them on the rules. And things have gotten better. I don't know if they do it in basketball but they should. Always fade what announcers are saying when they comment on rules.
