As long as we aren’t 1 in west but with AZ as the 2 in the west, that’d be a situation where we aren’t actually the higher seed and give me #2 in midwest.

Is that even possible?

It’s hard for me to even think straight about 2 games in Omaha and then possibly playing in LA 10 miles from where I live as a 1 or 2 seed. I
Playing Arizona in LA would be like playing ISU in Kansas City.

I just don’t see that many Cyclone fans going to LA. UNC on the other hand, yes. Because they’re more of a national brand.

Good point above though about ticket availability in Detroit with it being a given Purdue was going there.

Arizona isn't getting a 1.

That said, they're a great matchup because they're soft.

It's an "either-or" IMO - it's gonna be either us or UNC. The problem is I don't know what the committee is thinking; I only get to hear what the idiot talking heads think - and right now we're in play for the 1 but it's leaning more towards 2.
Yeah that was more in response to comment where we moved up to #5 overall.

Resume is more complete than Carolina period. Better wins and less bad losses

If you wonder why the B12 is keeping the tourney in KC, look at the Pac in Vegas... Whar peeps? Those new Pac invites got no shot.

I think the only fans advocating moving to Vegas are Arizona fans (for obvious reasons) and Utah fans (because they still hate the idea of coming to the Big 12 and want to be a bunch of *******).

I totally agree, and am very hopeful that everything I have said about the topic is wrong. I just think the committee will make us an example of having to play a tougher non-con, how many articles were written about it, that whiny ass ***** at clemson put our name in his mouth, i think we will get a look but that will keep us from getting it.
Hang on UNC went 1-2 out of conference v. Tournament teams. Plus they have half as many games v. Tournament teams then us.

Going to be rooting my ass off for VCU tomorrow.

Been reading through this thread and here's what I think I understand from everyone:

The committee will group teams first by pods of teams and the put the pods in an s-curve with the top pod in the curve guaranteed to play on Thursday - unless the top team in the pod loses their conference tournament championship, in which case the top teams in the top 2 pods will swap places. That means that after ISU won and UNC lost it likely means that ISU will move to a #1 seed but will be last in the s curve pods which means we can't play in Omaha. EXCEPT - with special consideration - a team will play against a former coach which means we need to root for the committee to place Nebraska in Omaha so that we play against Fred in Omaha as a #1 seed.

And - If all that happens then our best bet is that we'll get North Carolina as the top 2 seed in the western north southern regional and if the committee does place UNC as the #5 then that will increase our magic number to 3 which will place ISU and UNC in Los Angeles. UNLESS - Auburn can win the SEC championship then that will reset the Quadrant win percentage and the top 2 pods will be tied and if the seeding points are tied then Jaime, the UNC, Arizona and Marquette ADs will be picked at random to hold a 2 man sack race on Sunday night during the selection show to determine the Top 2 seed in Omaha!
